The Few, the Proud, the White: The Marine Corps Balks at Promoting Generals of Color
A respected, combat-tested Black colonel has been passed over three times for promotion to brigadier general. What does his fate say about the Corps?
---
the Marines — who have long cultivated a reputation as the United States’ strongest fighting force — remain an institution where a handful of white men rule over 185,000 white, African-American, Hispanic and Asian men and women.
---
The Marines have the worst diversity representation in their top ranks. In 2013, the branch released a photo of its six four-star generals, all gathered in desert camouflage at the commandant’s home at the Marine Barracks in Washington: John F. Kelly, Jim Mattis, Joseph F. Dunford Jr., James F. Amos, John R. Allen and John M. Paxton. The men are smiling as they hold their white Marine Corps coffee mugs.
All six have garnered respect across the political spectrum. But to Black Marines, the photo evokes a place where they do not belong.
The Marine 4-star generals may be respected leaders, but they're white. They even drink from white mugs.
All branches of the military including the Marine Corps are pretty diverse. The NYT, and most liberals, don't know the first thing about the military so this is not a surprising piece of "reporting" from that disgusting DNC propaganda outlet.
America is the most color blind nation among the 190 that exist on the planet. America has been better at sharing power and wealth among all people of every race, color, creed, sex, and sexual orientation.
But the closer we come to a color blind society, the louder the Marxists scream how racist we are. That is because to those trying to impose socialism on America, it is not and has never been about race. Dividing and conquering us has always been only about them taking power to turn America socialist.
The Marxist Left will scream about race constantly from now on going forward, until we become a socialist utopia.

I found this link that shows the ethnic makeup of the Marines: https://diversity.defense.gov/Portal...-04-135057-373. It also shows the makeup if you list 'Hispanic' separately and it clearly demonstrates how diverse the group is.
In the meantime I attempted to find the ethnic makeup of the New York Times and came up empty handed. Maybe somebody out there knows where to look? I think they do not really want to play this 'I'm Hollier than Thou' game?
The white mugs thing is nonsense, but this bit certainly is not (if it's accurate):
...The Marines have the worst diversity representation in their top ranks...
Are we to believe the USMC has worse minority officers and senior enlisted in their ranks than any other branch? If so, why? If not, what's the reason for the above?
I spent 2017, 2018 and 2019 working on MCB Quantico, shoulder to shoulder with hard working Marines of all ethnicities, to include many extremely capable leaders (enlisted and commissioned) that were not white.
So white coffee cups are racist? Jeebus. I'll bet you a million innerweb dollars that if one of those generals in the picture was black, he/she would've been enjoying their coffee in the same white cup!
As to the main point, along with this black colonel that was passed over three times are probably 1000 white colonels that are in the same boat, or chose to retire after the first or second time.
