“Compared to size of the U.S. economy, this year’s fiscal deficit will be worst since World War II.”

How pathetic!

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/u-...onomy-politics

“The U.S. government will run its biggest budget shortfall ever this year, at $3.311 trillion, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.

The government’s fiscal year ends Sept. 30 and the record fiscal deficit had long been seen as a fait accompli in light of the massive levels of government support for the economy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

It makes me uncomfortable -- but when Republicans rack up the deficit -- the deficit is nothing to worry about...and the Democrats say the same thing when they are making the deficit grow.

So I don't know if my concern is because I'm a true fiscal conservative -- not one in voting party only.

I'd love to see a Rand Paul across the board reduction in spending.

and unlike Rand Paul -- I think tax revenue needs to be increased not cut.

Budget deficits are good things, they're not like financial deficits in the private sector.

Government controls the printing press, and the money is needed to balance inequities between average income and inflated public service costs.

To create a fast pace consumer economy the Fraction Reserve Banking system helps secure funds for home buyers, but the market needs massive government spending to make sure the economy has a steady flow of cash.

If we followed Rand Paul we'd have a speculator economy and high turnover rates into poverty which would cause the system to collapse.

I'd be fine with a five trillion dollar deficit, the more the merrier.

It's not Trump racking up the deficit as though he sits at his desk racking up credit card debt... it the lack of tax revenues from the lock down... while at the same time, spending probably stayed pretty normal.

It simplistic and sophomoric to blame one person.

First they complain we didn't spend enough on coronavirus and now they complain we spend too much on the coronavirus... Democrats are stupid... Spend every penny, leave not a cent for Democrats to steal... That way they don't have any money to buy the votes...

Trump’s policies were causing the deficit to balloon way before the pandemic even started. Obama looks like a deficit hawk compared to Trump.

Go to US debt clock.org and look at the 'actual' deficit, which includes all the "off the books" government spending- it's already at $4.2T
