They shot as they were running away. Let’s see if the guns were in their possession or what happened. Is Shooting the only answer?
We all know which side of the aisle you are on, so anything that can foment trouble, you will be for at least until 11/04/20.
That said, try being a beat cop before you assume how easy the job is, and they are just too lazy and stupid to do anything but pull a gun and shoot people.
They have training that you do not.
They deal with belligerent and nasty people on a daily basis that you do not.
They face injury and death on a daily basis that you do not.
So while I am all for not using more force than is needed, you do have human beings doing the job that most others, sitting behind the climate controlled seats with a computer, have no idea what it is like to deal with criminals.
Also keep in mind that it is your side of the ideological divide that has lowered standards (physical, mental, and physiological), all in an effort to "diversify" the police force.
So when you have cops running around that are 5 foot nothing, and weight 100 nothing, and they need to arrest a large resisting suspect, they might react differently than the cops of old.
Back then you needed to be a certain height/weight even to apply to be a cop or fireman. You also had to pass more difficult tests (intelligence/physical/physiological) to get hired.
Even with the new reduced standards, they still let less intelligent and physically capable people get hired over more qualified ones, again all in the name of "diversity".
But you likely would not be for bringing back the old standards, which would mean fewer women and minorities would be able to be police, right?
You cannot have your cake and eat it to .

Sadly, it does not always work, and you get a situation like this (watch the video);

This I can understand. Some people can parade around with guns, spit on and kick at police, physically fight police, try to steal police cars...and not get shot.
Shooting tends to be a last resort for some but not others.
BUT it’s hard to feel sorry when some of these guys terrorize the community. There have been a number of shootings in Southeast/DC lately.
"You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization — including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility, and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain — without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large."

keep promoting this black gangster rap culture....keep accepting it....and keep believing it's black culture

I think what people miss is that the areas these things happen in are all very very different with varying levels of crime and violence.
Being a cop in DC is a far cry from other parts of the US in terms of the levels of crime and violence that goes on.
The funny thing is these fools in the article talk about diversity and representation of minorities in the MPD. Do they realize that the MPD force is majority black? Growing up in the DC area and going to DC plenty of times, I have always noticed that there are a lot of black DC police officers. Yes, the demographics of the city has changed since I was growing up, but the police force is still majority black.
Also where this shooting took place is in Congress Heights. That is a bad neighborhood. East of the Anacostia River is still pretty dangerous. They have pretty high rates of gun violence there. I do agree that we should get all of the facts and see if this was justified, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that defunding the MPD will bring great results for people who live in these neighborhoods.
...how stupid do you have to be to not get the hint
