The absolute evidence is people fleeing Cuba and communism and the horrible stories about everything taken from them. Talk to them that lived under communism and why they ran even risking life and limb to get out of a communist country.
OP has no clue Socialist Venezuela is an unholy mess and circling the drain. People are literally starving in Venezuela.

Venezuela is so socialist, it has plutocratic class backed by the US controlling Venezuela' #1 resource - oil and sabotaging whatever modest lukewarm policies by populist leaders to correct Banana Republic economic order.
When I was a kid, my military father was stationed in Germany in the town of Bad Hersfeld. My Mom and I got to come along, so I lived there between the ages of 8 and 11. Bad Hersfeld was the northern most American border garrison and the first line of defense during the days of the Cold War.
While small in numbers, the US forces were heavily equipped with a nuclear capability. They were primarily equipped with armored personnel carriers, artillery, and main battle tanks. They were augmented with combat engineers and an anti-aircraft missile site. My Dad was among the soldiers who patrolled the Russian-American Demarcation Line in pairs of jeeps to avoid damage to the roads.
He saw all sorts of things that went on once you got off the main roads. Most of it he never said anything about to me and my Mom. The communist East Germans were determined to prevent anyone from East Germany or any other neighboring communist country from escaping to the free world.
So, the East Germans plowed clean a 3 mile swath of land that ran along the border. There was not so much as a blade of grass that someone trying to escape into West Germany could hide behind. In addition, the communists erected guard towers manned by soldiers with machine guns about every half mile or so. The whole thing was finished off with barbed wire everywhere. We called this atrocity the "plowed strip," and about two or three people trying to escape were machine gunned down every month by the guards in the plowed strip.
You'll have to pardon me if I came away with impression that it sucked hard to live under a communist regime. The ghosts of the dead who had been killed trying to reach freedom would have agreed. While I have my issues with some of the actions the CIA has taken over the years, at least the CIA has been on America's side.
Today's Chinese and Russian regimes are not stupid. They always have one of theirs accompany tourist groups visiting their countries. These guides make sure to steer the tourists away from anything they might find upsetting. Only the newest and best tourist sites get visited. All else is carefully avoided.
Just because Trump has a fondness for dictators and talks up their countries so he can get brownie points from villains doesn't mean that everyone in the republican party has to follow suit. It only makes them appear ridiculous.
Ever hear about keeping your enemies close. . In North Korea since Trump and Kim jong-un talked there hasn't been any missiles flying over Japan. I would say that's a pretty good thing I surely wouldn't want world war III happening.
