Lewis Howard Latimer:
Latimer received a patent on January 17, 1882 for the "Process of Manufacturing Carbons", an improved method for the production of lightbulb carbon filaments.[8][9]

The Edison Electric Light Company in New York City hired Latimer in 1884, as a draftsman and an expert witness in patent litigation on electric lights. While at Edison, Latimer wrote the first book on electric lighting, Incandescent Electric Lighting (1890)[10] and supervised the installation of public electric lights throughout New York, Philadelphia, Montreal, and London.[11] When that company was combined in 1892 with the Thomson-Houston Electric Company to form General Electric, he continued to work in the legal department. In 1911, he became a patent consultant to law firms.
It was a crazy thing to say, as you have helpfully pointed out to anyone who may not be aware of the history.

Biden was 100% wrong and one can only wonder why he choose to say what he said. Why do you think he lied?

Biden presented his words as if he was correcting a lie, which he wasn't. He was in effect saying that people have been taught for over a hundred years that Edison invented the light bulb, but it was a black man who actually did. Of course, this isn't true.

Latimer's work is laudable in itself, no need to lie about things. He could have said that the contributions of black scientists have been overlooked, and given examples of people many have not heard of. But instead he chose to continue racial strife by suggesting a white man had taken credit for a black man's work. Democrats gonna do........

Really. Latimer did some good work. So did the Hidden Figures women. Why exaggerate their contributions to the point that you make them a joke? Why isn't the truth good enough?

Politicians placate their audience, but I suspect he believed what he said and just got his facts mixed up.

If you were in the news media business to make money, this story would be an obvious click-magnet: the Democratic candidate for President has been Hotep-pilled on the light bulb question!

On the other hand, if your chief priority were to drive Donald Trump from office, in part by not saying anything remotely interesting about Biden, you’d try to bury the light bulb story.

Hence, the London tabloids are all over the story, as is the tabloid New York Post, and the pro-Republican opinion press.

But I haven’t found any mention yet in the New York Times, Washington Post, Guardian, or other broadsheets. Nor in NPR or the broadcast network news websites other than Fox. The AP doesn’t seem to have covered it.

It’s almost as if it never happened.
