This effectively means when Trump dismissed the case saying she wasn’t his type, he was doing that in the official capacity as president. From a two decade old case.

Waited until he was about to be compelled to produce dna and documents to do this.

I do wish you people would come up with some new sleazy tricks to defame politicians you don't like.

This decades old rape allegation thing is really getting tiresome.

Hell no. He should create a personal fund. Have his idiotic fans donate to it. If he didn't rape this woman then she should submit his dna.

No let Trump defend himself no Tax dollars should be used to defend him.

He did call her a liar and she wasn't his type. typical Trump he hopes that will cover him under the federal guidelines since he said those things during the presidency.

He will try to delay run the clock out just like all the other lawsuits against him once hes back to be a private citzen he will face the music.

Default DOJ seeks to defend Trump in sexual assault case

Any lawyers here willling to explain why the United States Taxpayer should be billed for legal fees for a nasty sexual assault Trump committed long before becoming POTUS?

Oh nevermind, I see it here: The request and possible change of lawyers could further delay the lawsuit, or even kill it entirely. Should the Justice Department be allowed to take over, it could mean the end of Carroll's lawsuit as the federal government can't be sued for defamation, noted CNN legal analyst and University of Texas law school professor Steve Vladeck.

Another legal move to get him off the hook again.

If he loses this election, he's going to be very, very busy. His tax audit, answering to the South District NY for campaign finance issues with the Stormy Daniels payoff, the Russia collusion case, and now this assault.

He might be our first POTUS to have to declare bankruptcy after leaving office due to all these legal bills, lawsuits, etc.\

Withholding $391 million in military aid, and the promise of a White House meeting to coerce Ukraine into investigating political rival Joe Biden and his son — contain elements of several established federal crimes:extortion and bribery.

He's gonna need a pardon before leaving office. Or one from Biden.

I can understand why Trump would want Barr to step in.

But why would American taxpayers?
