I can see it. Tesla is making great progress. The question will be if they allow people to bring cars in, or how long they allow previous gasoline cars to be used.
In any event, at the rate California is going, they may not exist in 15 years.
I don't agree with mandates like this. I think the consumer should decide. We all want to get more miles per gallon of gas and if we can we will go green as long as it is equal to the alternative. Forcing the consumer to decide or forcing manufacturers to make something special for that state might actually force people and companies out of the state.
I wonder where CA is going to get all this energy to charge all these cars? They already have rolling brown outs.

They are, but even though the cars are better and cheaper they still need the same amount of electricity
The biggest thing they aren't recognizing is that California doesn't have enough electricity TODAY to meet peak demand. If all new cars are electric in 15 years where are they going to get the power?
Germany bans them by 2030. China's goal is about the same as CA. Dino-cars are on the way out. The electric grid in the US is going to need some serious attention though. Energy is energy.
According to the left, global warming is going to raise the water tables in California and Florida, to where everyone will need boats to travel anyway. Perhaps Calif. will mandate sailboats vs gas driven engines (?) At least the rising water might quench the burning buildings set on fire by 'peaceful protesters (?).'
