Maybe just having some adult leadership at the national level would have helped keep the TP on the shelf, but we didn't have any of either .......
His followers are so brainwashed nothing will dissuade them from voting for him. 190K dead on his watch. So many of those deaths could have been prevented if he had acted early. And he knew, and he lied. Not downplayed, LIED.
How'd the rest of the world avoid panic? I get they have leaders who know more than a hundred words and can talk about things without being a moron. Is that American exceptionalism?
I know this is going to blow your mind, but different cultures react differently.
We already have a media that treated COVID-19 like it was a death sentence to all that got it and it was going to be the end of the world. Downplaying that false narrative was the right thing to do.
Keep in mind, that at the time your masters were selling the idea of millions dead in this country.
Ahhhh... that's how you downplay the dementia... twist it and go back to the blame Trump narrative.
Got it.
if that's dementia, then what do you call Trump trying to explain the difference between airborne and surface-borne contagions? That was as stupid a word salad as Biden's.
But back to the matter at hand, why wasn't Trump able to be truthful about the coronavirus without making people panic, when every other leader in the free world was? There's a fundamental ability gap there, right?

Did you forget that part.
Was Pelosi or Cuomo briefed on the full scope of a potential pandemic when they made these comments? Did they have access to intelligence explaining that this was on par with the 1918 flu? Or did they go off of the lie that President Trump promoted?

As has already been discussed there's nothing Trump could have said to prevent the panic... especially when it's PROMOTED by the media. Fear mongering gets clicks and sells newspapers... didn't ya know?

Good Lord, even with him trying to keep everything calm, our grocery store shelves were wiped clean for weeks and we are still being rationed on some items. Can you imagine what would happen if we did panic? I don't blame him one bit for trying to keep things calm based upon what I saw starting in early March BEFORE CDC even declared it a pandemic. Hell the first week of April we only had 2 dozen positive cases nationwide.
Other countries, especially Asian countries, are used to virus outbreaks and masking up so they already know the drill and do not panic. We've NEVER experienced that in this country and you think Americans won't panic? You think the US president, regardless of who is in office, would know exactly what to do with a pandemic? Our own "experts" didn't have a clue from one day to the next and kept changing their minds constantly on how we should respond to the virus.
