Some people just won't follow the science and admit that the job of a virus is to take out the old, the weak and the sick.
They won't admit that most victims have already lived a long, full life. Those that were younger were diseased and unhealthy or otherwise genetically inferior.

You live in Ohio? The bars there are open, aren't they? The gyms are open in PA, at least, but bars/restaurants have goofy restrictions that people are getting around/ignoring.
Unfortunately I moved to Los Angeles. A Chinese prison in Xinjiang is probably more open; at least there, the prisoners likely have exercise-hour.

A vaccine won’t be 100% effective and doesn’t eradicate a virus similar to how the flu is still around
So I think, Dems especially will make Covid restrictions permanent. Permanent mask wearing, social distancing, end of in person schools, colleges, bars, gyms, movie theaters, audiences at sporting events, concerts etc. Small businesses likely won’t be able to survive. Might do full lockdowns at certain parts of the year (like winter months) etc.

Other than being rather pessimistic, can you explain why the 1918 flu disappeared after 2 years? Granted there were fewer people, and methods to keep very sick people alive had not been developed, but why won't it disappear this time?
All those people that survived covid but have severely compromised health, did that happen in 1918 as well, or did more people die from the initial round of the virus? Will the virus last longer when more sick people survive?
Researchers have tried for decades to find a vaccine for common cold type viruses like the coronavirus.
Does it seem bizarre to think that the one political party or another can make the virus situation stop? Hopefully all political parties will do the best for the country to manage the epidemic.
I think that people should see the glass half full and be cautiously optimistic that pandemic is not the end of the world. It has happened before, and we have the misfortune of living through a pandemic, but life can be normal after pandemic - we know that from history.
