That aside, this whole conversation seems staged. I doubt a General purportedly contemplating a coup against Trump or Clinton would confide in an individual whose profession is "author" and whose sole intent is to publish stuff.
In short, the entire claims seems to be cut from a "B" movie script.

You pay someone enough money, they will say anything. How is anyone going to prove that Mad Dog Mattis said any of those things? They're not, so unless Mattis comes out and says, "I didn't say those things", people are going to believe every word in that book.
Same with the dumb claims about Trump's reaction to the virus. Nevermind that it was the LEFT who downplayed the virus when Trump was making his early steps to make changes to prevent more problems, they have chosen this Woodward person to come up with a bunch of horse crap to deflect away from the fact that the left, who, according to another poster on here in another thread, "didn't have the information that Trump had", were the ones going against what Trump was calling for.
If the left didn't have the information, they should have shut their GD mouths instead of trying to undermine a president putting plans in action to stop the spread early on.

Agreed. Trump’s Achilles heel is that he really does believe that he can talk his way out of anything, including telling a journalist who is recording EVERY word that he lied to the American people about the risks of SARS-CoV-2.

Yep. He’s a black hole of neediness, which is why he’s always on the hunt for public adulation, and even in the midst of all his bluster, he’s likely terrified being revealed as a fraud. Lots of silver spoon kids suffer from imposter syndrome. We just don’t normally elect them to the presidency.
