As the president, Trump had a duty to be honest with the country. He failed. TRUMP KNOWINGLY LIED, Woodward simply didn't release the recordings. Woodward did the only thing within his power and that is to release the information during election season so the public could make an informed decision. It's not lied Trump and his Republican defenders wouldn't have rushed to attack Woodward, block any investigation and try to make Trump a victim. We know that's what they would do. This was the only effective path Woodward could take. If they still elect Trump, they do so knowing what Trump did.
Trump is upset because he can't claim 'Fake News'. Woodward recorded Trump. If it wasn't for the recording, 100% guarantee that Trump would have claimed Fake News.
The evidence is clear for all except for the blind, deaf and stupid that The Democratic Socialistic Party is not after President Trump, they are after the American Citizen, He just happens to be in the way.
And how does Bob Woodward's book effect that? Bob Woodward just released the tapes that recorded what came out of Trump's mouth. If anyone is at fault, it's not Woodward.

Woodward was called a disgrace 45 years ago when he was reporting on Nixon. That never changed the fact that everything he reported was true and verifiable.
Some things never change.
If name calling is all there is to go against Woodward, it isn't going to be very useful in proving Trump's innocence, and it won't change the confidence that Woodward writes the truth. Trump himself knows better than to call him a disgrace.

A journalist who has information that he thinks is important should report it.
Not wait until he wants to sell a book two months before an election.
A different perspective.... if he discovered in March that Trump was killing babies in the white house basement at a rate of 5 per week, and then waited until September to tell the world as part of his book release.... then yes, Woodward is a DISGRACE for not telling someone IMMEDIATELY about it.

Trump is the one in charge. If anyone should have spoken up, it should have been him. Woodward could have released the tapes, but he would have been powerless to have done anything to effect the way Covid was handled. The fact that so many of Trump's supporters are still supporting him in his lack of leadership speaks volumes. You would think that just the fact that Trump admitted from his own mouth that he knew of the death and illness risks of this virus and chose to ignore them would cause outrage in anyone, Democrat or Republican. But that is not the case because we live in a bizarro world.
It's a deflection of the fact the President purposely misled people.
Woodwards was a cad...but he's not up for re-election. So smear him all you want.
But this is about Trump.
