"Only about a third of Trump supporters (32%) say immigrants do more to strengthen society, but this is a 13 percentage point increase from 19% in 2016. Biden supporters are more likely than Clinton supporters four years ago to say the growing number of newcomers strengthens society (84% vs. 71%)."

This is from a sample of 11K, of which 9K were registered voters. It was a survey. The survey questions were not given.
" The survey questions were not given", NOR the methodology which most polls USED to supply but, NOT anymore.

Most every major poll use MORE dems then repubs then boast about the "results!.

It tells me that "Trump supporters" consider the difference between legal immigration and illegal. We know that Trump supports legal immigration for those who will be net additions to the country.

So, even those in this thread who express "no, I don't want anymore immigrants of any kind" are in disagreement with POTUS. I know that I disagree with their position and as many have said the same as are for no more immigration.

When we are at "full employment" ... you know, like Feb 2020 ... it makes good sense to allow legal immigration at a level to fill new jobs.

When we are at 8%+ unemployment, it would make good economic and policy sense to restrain immigration so that American citizens ("Native" or " legalized citizens") have a greater opportunity to fill those jobs.

With ~ 13MM Americans currently unemployed and 11MM "official" illegal immigrants, it's a pretty clear situation.
"and 11MM "official" illegal immigrants", that no. was used by obama and it stuck, even though he also used other numbers depending on the day.

Some say it is OVER 29 million. Who knows? We DO know Trump tried to get the census to count and the dems had little children hissy fits.

A 2018 paper by three Yale School of Management professors estimated that the illegal immigrant population was in the range of 16 million to 29 million.

Stephen Miller, Ken Cuccinelli, and Tom Cotton - all Trump supporters, oppose legal immigration.

The temporary suspension of green cards in April was a step toward ending “chain” migration - Miller admitted it on a conference call where Cuccinelli was present. Tom Cotton introduced a bill that would have reduced the number of legal immigrants accepted per year by HALF, and Trump endorsed it.

But go on, keep telling yourself it’s just them dirty illeeeguls you hate.

And a growing numbers of immigrants are also supporting Trump, which is a good thing for them, and for our country! Trump/AMERICA 2020

So reducing legal immigration to numbers we can accomodate with jobs and resources while keeping population growth in check equates to hate? It's sane policy! Typical bleeding heart liberal stupidity though by those who just refuse to understand it because they are blinded by emotion instead.

We don't hate illegal aliens we just oppose their presence on our soil because they don't belong here and are costing us billions of dollars every year. Nice try though!

Its something even the "nice" Canadians do. Our policy should be much more like theirs. Immigration is based on what you can do for the country, not what the country can do for you.

Where in the post was policy mentioned? Are you incapable of reading the survey results?

when times change, should policy change?

With more Americans unemployed than there are illegals (if you accept the 11MM number), does it make sense to find jobs for the unemployed Americans?

Or should we just pay them 100% of their old income and allow illegals to make $7-15/hr?

You've avoided every question and point made in here and you have yet to distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants and so has your so-called link/poll.
