seriously those of you on the left need to stop defending a fellow liberal and face this one head on. This isn't politics.
While Mario had both a Field Hospital at the Javits Center with a thousand plus beds, AND the Navy Hospital Ship Mercy with another thousand plus beds, He issued orders to send COVID positive patients to nursing homes across the state.
In addition to those two medical centers set up for the purpose, Samaritans Purse set up a field hospital and was ready and willing to help. They were rejected by state and city leaders because they are Christian conservatives.
He had access to all the help he needed to protect the elderly in his state and instead he made a choice that was in direct conflict with the known science. 15K people died as a direct result of that order.
And he did this despite being dead for the past 5 years. Impressive.
The garbage isn't even being regularly picked up, & crime is up up up, as is homelessness.
Only 10% of workers have returned to the city. They won't return to filthy crime ridden streets.
If NYC raise taxes even more on the rich, the rich will leave. It happened in France when Hollande raised taxes on the rich, and 10,000 of the wealthiest Frenchman left the country, and never returned.
When the rich leave, they take their money, their companies, and their jobs with them.
New York is already losing Billions in tax revenues to Florida.
New York is in a downward death spiral...another city killed by Liberal leadership.
I would not want to be a NYC pensionholder.

Why in the HELL should OUR taxes got to state, etc state that does NOT take care of themselves.

Yeah, go right ahead and raise those taxes on the wealthy. We, down here in Florida, will welcome them and their money when they give NY the finger on their way down south. Most American's who do not have $500 in their emergency funds need to better manage their money and stop spending it on expensive, shoes, TV's and the latest gadgets.

They've doing it for a few years now, which is why they have lost LOTS of people statewide, NOT just nyc.
They even LOST 2 seats in the House of Rep. while other states have picked UP seats.

Hmmmm possible exemption here for that poster....nothing is an ethnic slur if the person making the statement is minority and the recipient is white (in this case asians are not considered white, only if we are looking at things like diversity requirements does that happen). That precedent was established in the famous case of Cracker vs. <insert slur against blacks here>. It falls under the category of linguistic reparations.
Secondly, with the revision of the rules the past few decades italians, poles etc. are now all "white people" so there is the white person saying slurs about your own kind loophole.
It's like the one comedian pointed out about rules in comedy. Blacks can tell jokes of blacks...handicapped people can tell jokes about being handicapped, gays about gays and Bill Cosby can tell jokes about rapists.

- Only around 10,000 households were subject to this high rate.
- Many more things were deductible then. These deductions were removed in the 80’s when Reagan lowered the rates.
- People at the high end did salary sacrifice to reduce their wages - company-provided cars, home loans, vacations, etc. The company would write off these expenses and the employee wasn’t taxed. This became popular in other high tax countries like the UK.
- If it was so effective, why was the AMT introduced in the 60’s? Answer - it wasn’t effective.

they've tried that and the reality is with all the loopholes, the marginal tax rate was never paid.
and it'll be even less effective today given all the other states/countries that wealthy people can easily migrate to.
cutting spending is what politicians should do, not raise taxes.
