Huge emphasis was placed on the “China virus” and sort of preventing arrivals of Chinese tourists in the US.

We watched what was going on in Europe and assumed it could not happen, here. The virus spread from China to Europe to the US.

Millions poured into the NYC tri- state area from hot spots in Europe during the weeks/ months before the Federal Government restricted arrivals. There are no direct flights between Europe and Sioux Falls.

Population matters:
Sioux Falls- 182,000
NYC-8.4 million
( this does not take into account the millions who live in NJ and Ct who commute to NYC for work)

Population density matters :
Sioux Falls- 2,435/ mile
NYC- 28,000/ mile
(The Bronx-35,000/ mile)

NYC has the busiest subway system in the US and is one of the busiest in the world. Sioux Falls has limited public transportation.

NYC peaked April- May. Test kits in the US were scarce. PPE was scarce. Ventilators were scarce.

NY, like several other states, required nursing homes to readmit/ retain Covid positive patients WHEN the facility had the ability to isolate infected patients and adequate PPE. At those times past, those who worked in nursing homes were not tested, anywhere in the US. Assuming, nursing homes complied with isolation requirements, the only human interaction that occurred was with the employees who came and went each day.

NYC imposed restrictions on restaurants, bars, retail, public transportation. NYC eventually closed schools. Compliance with restrictions was hit/ miss.

We know more about Covid now than was known 6 months ago. There is more testing. There are treatments that did not exist 6 months ago. More are surviving Covid than did during the initial outbreak.

6 months is a lifetime in a pandemic.

Appears South Dakota did next to nothing to mitigate the transmission of Covid. It was only a matter of time.

Covid is surging throughout the Midwest. Wisconsin and the Army Corps built a 530 bed field hospital on fair grounds in April. It did not open.......until last week- 6 month later. The state was airlifting patients from hospitals at capacity to other hospitals in the state before running out of beds.

A field hospital is only useful, when staffed by appropriately trained healthcare workers. At least one Illinois hospital system is reassigning some people to Wisconsin.

Given that surge in all states bordering Illinois, it is only a matter of time before Chicago is hit once again.

Its really disturbing. Even National Geographic has abandoned science. They did an issue on "gender." They push climate change in every article. There was a drought in Africa. MUST be due to climate change. There was a war in Syria. MUST be due to climate change (Seriously!!!!-they claimed climate change was one of the causes of the civil war in Syria!!!!!).

And you see "scientists" saying that mass gatherings for a good cause can't contribute to the spread of Covid. You see "scientists" doing contact tracing forbidden to ask about attendance at protests. You see suppression of articles questioning the establishment point of view.

New York was one of 4 states that required nursing homes to take back Covid patients. Only 4-NY, NJ, PA, MI.

Nursing homes raised a stink. New York didn't care. New York virtue signalled. People died. At the DNC, Cuomo lied.

She’s even encouraged parents to send their kids back to school “without masks.” As of the end of August, more than 550 people had been infected at the state’s universities, with another 200 cases recently reported in K-12 schools.

Noem initially attempted to conceal the latest statistics out of her state. When the Argus Leader, the daily newspaper in Sioux Falls, requested a copy of the weekly reports sent to the state health department from the White House task force, Noem’s office refused. When Trump repeatedly touted the drug hydroxychloroquine as a potential COVID remedy, Noem was was among the first to launch a trial of the unproven drug, which was later quietly dropped.

She announced that “South Dakota is open for business” after four workers at a Smithfield Foods meatpacking plant in the state died and another 48 were hospitalized.

323 people have died of covid in South Dakota and hysterical liberals are tearing their hair out and encouraging everyone to jump off bridges.

We really have to wonder why. Could it be true that liberals are threatened or intimidated by a beautiful, successful woman who speaks her mind? Sure looks like it.
How will they act when Kristi or Nikki decide to go to Washington and try their luck? We'll be seeing bald, screaming, hysterical liberals!

Once everyone has been exposed, things will return to normal. San Francisco is just delaying the inevitable. And their economy will suffer longer, too.

Currently, the national death rate is only .026%, about the same as the seasonal flu..

What?!

National (COVID) death rate is around 0.65% (CDC's latest guess). There is no ZERO in front of that 6.

There IS a zero in front of your flu number - it means COVID is about 30x worse than the flu, and the numbers kinda bear that out.

In reality - if you want it to be "the same" as the flu - you'd need 200K dead people from the flu.

No you do not get fevers and chills and have trouble breathing or any kind of respiratory distress with a cold. Do you know what a cold is? You DON'T need to be on oxygen when you have a cold.
