Honestly I feel like the combo of the pandemic and the deaths of Arbery/Floyd/Taylor etc. created a perfect storm. Not to mention, war was a possibility at the beginning of the year. So everything just exploded.

Sorry but the above is silly. This has nothing to do with politics. The Black National Anthem has existed for over 100 years, when the land of the free did not truly apply to black people.

But now the land of the free does apply to black people, and there is no place for divisiveness inherent in playing the Black National Anthem. On one hand, blacks say they should be looked upon the same as any other American, without regard to color; and on the other, they want to emphasize how they are separate and have their own anthem that excludes whites.

It’s a normal hymn with neutral lyrics. It does not exclude whites or anyone else. The song is called LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING. Instead of flapping your gums, familiarize yourself.
