I was involved in a shooting investigation between two gang members when I was a deputy for LA Sheriff. Gang #1 killed gang #2 using an illegally obtained weapon. In addition, gang #1 was a convicted gang member thus making a prohibited possessor. However, the shooting was ruled as self defense. Gang #1 went to prison and NOT for murder. He went to prison for 2 weapon charges (illegally possessor + illegally obtained weapon).
If a deep blue state like CA with draconian-gun law did not send a convicted gangster to prison for self defense, what makes you think a purple'ish state like WI with lax gun law is going to send a teenager to prison for similar crime?
Why do you inject politics in this incident ? The courts might be full or repubs or Dems or both - and by the time he goes to trial prob elections be over and all calmed down.
It's certainly worth pointing out that this is the same city, district attorney and police department trying to railroad Chrystul Kazer for killing the person who trafficked, abused and raped her. She too was 17 years old. Her bail was set for $1 million. The Kenosha DA is going all in trying to toss Chrystul in prison for the rest of her life. Both Kazer and Rittenhouse do stand a very good chance of being convicted because the Kenosha DA seems to be on some kind of a weird crusade against people's right to self defense.
I don't trust this DA is acting in good faith in either case, but at the end of the day, it's the DA's job to prosecute people to the greatest degree possible. I just think the guy is seriously power tripping here.

No it wasn't. Sure, if he was shooting 'unprovoked' at people as he was running past then yea, maybe. But he was not shooting at anyone who wasn't attacking him , and, the cops were right there on the corner. Based on people who really didn't know for sure. There were many people there with guns, on both sides, with many gun shot sounds before and after the shootings.

The best option for everyone was to hide and let him go to the cops. In fact, the guy who got his arm shot even knew Kyle was going to the police, because Kyle had told him before he attacked Kyle. And, instead of refraining and letting him go to the cops he attacked Kyle.
Did you even watch the video of him running down that street? Not a single person on that street seemed to be afraid of him, until after he was attacked on that street. Until he shot his attackers on that street the mob was running beside him and chasing him. IF they actually had feared him they wouldn't have been running next to him or after him.

All he knew was that Rosenbaum was attacking him. He also knew that Rosenbaum had covered up his face right before he'd attacked Kyle. What do you think Rosembaum had in mind that he was going to do to Kyle since he suddenly covered his face , probably to avoid recognition, before attacking him?
Rosenbaum was seen on various videos throughout the evening. In all of those videos he was wearing his t-shirt as a t-shirt. Even in the video several minutes before he was shot he was wearing his t-shirt normally. Suddenly he's seen chasing after Kyle with it wrapped around his head and hiding his face. Yeah, no, he wasn't planning on asking Kyle to the prom, that's for sure.

You don't know that. If Kyle has the certificate from WI, and that is very possible, then he would have been legally armed.

My point is that if he’s such a friggen hero to the right, why haven’t you banded together and sprung him? I’m sure millions of you hero worshippers would jump at the chance to help him make bail. No?
