We had a plan. There was a pandemic taskforce, a carefully worked out playbook, years' work provided by experts of the highest caliber. It was scrapped, of course.

You do know that there are already more than 200,000 dead Americans, right? And that Trump's plan is to do absolutely nothing about it? Which means there will likely be many, many more dead Americans going forward if we reelect him?

But your biggest concern is having to wear a mask?

So to recap, to a true Trumpie, many thousands upon thousands of dead Americans is preferable to having to wear a mask. And we need do nothing more than sit back and watch them die, because Trump takes no responsibility for anything, including the health of the country.

Disgusting.

And then Trump has the freakin' nerve to invoke Churchill's name when defending his crisis response, freely making up a couple of supporting details that never happened. No decency. No integrity.
This whole Churchill thing sounds like Kellyanne again. It's something she'd try to pass by the press. i'm sure she fed the idea to Trump as a talking point. She's full of it. I also posted elsewhere she had to be behind the "up-played with my actions"(vs downplayed) point he made on ABC last night. It's classic Kellyanne Conway spin.

Masks might interfere with comfort and convenience - surely you don't expect that sort of sacrifice for the lives a of a few thousand people that I probably don't even know?

I watched most taskforce briefings and got nothing but Trump being angry at nasty questions and using the briefings as his campaign rallies speeches. I got obsequious Pence kissing up to Trump. I got CDC buffoon giving generalized guidelines that I could pull off their website. Fauci and Brix were the only credible people and they became contradicted soon into the briefings by POTUS (LIBERATE!).

additional comment: Today is a great example of how Trump handled this pandemic. Last night he says the masks aren't useful. Today his CDC director says the masks may be better protection than the vaccine?

this is just typical of what we've dealt with the last six months - complete circus, chaos, confusion, message isn't on the same page.....Americans really deserve better.

Relax, people, Trump said it would just disappear someday. We just have to wait this out.

And masks are optional.

You idiots wouldn’t know war if it slapped you across the face with rainbow printed gloves. Surprised they teach anything Churchill related in your high school. You should follow up on what he thought of liberals. Here’s a hint , he didn’t like them.

Surely you're aware that Churchill, although he was elected as a member of the Conservatives, crossed the floor to sit for the Liberals in 1904? Served in Liberal governments in different capacities until the early 1920s. Invested massive amounts of political capital in pushing through several legal reforms to secure workers' rights.

He was, quite literally, an MP for the Liberals for almost 20 years.

Does any of this sound like Portland?
