Gives some insight, but also says capitalism does not have to be disbanded. It can change and evolve.
Maybe we need a new form of capitalism?

Capitalism is organic and virginal. It's the light of life.

It has also never been allowed to exist courtesy of the Marxists (Republicans and Democrats).

What do you think of the idea of we just change capitalism. Like for current times, capitalism needs to evolve.

Capitalism is the apolitical natural state of a human being. Two or more parties, free from duress and with the cognitive ability to do so, engage in commerce (of goods, services, ideas).

To quote Lysol Man (on an unrelated matter): It is what it is.

Why and How? I do hope you understand that capitalism is not only the best, but the only system for generating wealth and prosperity for ALL who actively participate. There is capitalism on one hand, and poverty on the other.

The United States has never been a capitalist nation; it has always had a mixed economy. It goes to one side or the other with time, but there are things that are too big for the private sector or which they won't make $ on. Whether it was the transcontinental railroad, TVA, the great water projects of the west, or even the regular dredging of our waterways and harbors, the private sector depends on the public. Perhaps some folks want the government to end its oversight of banks and the markets...they will until the next crash. We have public water systems in most of the country because the private sector could not do it and make a profit. Its the question of degree. Capitalism as we expect it is new. It wasn't even around when the nation was founded, they were evolving from a mercantile system; the only economic system even mentioned in the Constitution was slavery.

Every small business, hairs Salon, landscaper or person selling clothing or tires on Craigslist is engaging in Capitalism. Small business men and women have been pulling themselves out of poverty for 100s of year. Governmental interference and overtaxing small businesses are the enemy of the people. Bernie Sanders and Progressives that believe taxing and regulation need to be imposed on small businesses are the biggest problem.

Personally I think its clear, we can disagree on what this is, in terms of late stage capitalism or somethign different, but I think they are adjacent, so basically the paper clip maximizer economy. Market silos externalizing cost/waste to the commons and among themselves. This is shown everywhere you look, even in politics you can see what happened to the democrats.
The cost of support got too high, it was to expensive for the donor class to make concessions that actually cost money, in the market of voters that deals in influence, the democrats came up with a cheaper alternative, why do they have to make concessions to labor its cheaper to create this identities to people to rally around, create the culture war it cost very little. We have absolutely destroyed our information ecology, everyone has an incentive to disinform, our ability to sensemake is at all time low you can see how half the country is propping up a cartoon of a strongman which is what people do when they cant make sense of the world.
