I would love to see a presidential debate with two moderators to ask questions. A politically conservative moderator and a liberal moderator. Each moderator will get to ask their opposing candidate the hard all questions for the first half and then the softball questions to the candidate they are more in line with. This would give both candidates a good positive end for their prospective voters while giving the more independent and undecided voters a true hardball question session to help them to decide which candidate they should choose.

That sounds great actually. Too bad it makes too much sense to be used.

I'd like to see fact checkers on duty and the debaters called out immediately when they stray from the facts.

And Trump can't tell the difference between Fact and Fiction!

Would you also want some fact checkers to fact check the fact checkers? Because any "fact checker" you would be happy with is a threat to democracy.

Depends on who are the fact checkers and from which source do they pull their facts from. If all the fact checkers are pulling for the same candidate then they’re going to nitpick everything the opposing candidate says while going easy on the candidate they support.

Another idea is fact checkers from both sides fact check and a follow-up debate is held with each of the two moderators armed with the facts from the previous debate.

Want to explain that or should I just take it as the nonsense it appears?

I'd like that but instead of a follow up debate, a follow up calling onto the carpet and the lies clearly identified and proven to be lies.

Pretty darn good idea!

More fun would be a line of opposed backers asking tough questions of the opposed candidate with a $100K bounty on each "team member" that asked the question that got the biggest deer in headlights moment for their team.
