What's VERY interesting to me is that I see SO MANY "Reaction" videos on YT of Black dudes, and ladies, ROCKING OUT to all sorts of great music from the 70's - 80's, and more. There's some people riding the bandwagon, but a LOT of major appreciation for classic rock, including METAL, which seem totally sincere.

There's a "community" out there, and with great sharing of comments.

Anyone else notice this?

OTOH how many white individuals can be considered legitimately hip hop so-called "musicians"? Where is the racial diversity and equality with that regard or it seems in fact segregated and limited to a particular racial composition that specifically excludes whites. Protest that in they pipe and smoke it.

If Trump were to be inept, you wouldn't have to preface his name with your hopeful adjective.

These opinions will represent the Left, in total and eventually.

As all the left's fringe opinions always eventually do.

That is the tragedy of the Left for any Liberal hoping to maintain sanity, and the beauty of it for the natural order:

historically, the Left always eventually chokes on its own meal and vomits up every bit of what it prior ate. It has no natural appetite suppresant.

As it seems too eager to do now. Enjoy it while your compatriots refresh Bethoven's symbolism opposite to what they intend as his music becomes, again, rebellious and cool within the relevant circles.

P.S. its continuously peculiar that people think that, by wearing an institution's skin suit, they somehow magically partake in its essence.

In other words, its hilariously erroneous thinking that replacing musicians and music conveys the same identity or that institutions that heavily rely on donations and ticket sales will still receive them in the expected amounts.

In the larger scheme, these musicians will pick up, restart orchestras under a different banner, play the better music, and again become what those who replace them can not or will not.

"The Left". At least you guys are identifying as Leftist these days. When I was a Dem, no one was identifying as a Leftist unless you were secretly meeting with Fidel or Hugo Chavez.

A woke writer in the New Yorker wants you to know that, in this era of George Floyd, we must recognize that classical music, and musical theory itself, is racist:

Quote:

---
Since nationwide protests over police violence erupted, in May and June, American culture has been engaged in an examination, however nominal, of its relationship with racism. Such an examination is sorely needed in classical music, because of its extreme dependence on a problematic past.
---
This spring, the journal Music Theory Online published “Music Theory and the White Racial Frame,” an article by Philip Ewell, who teaches at Hunter College. It begins with the sentence “Music theory is white,” and goes on to argue that the whiteness of the discipline is manifest not only in the lack of diversity in its membership but also in a deep-seated ideology of white supremacy, one that insidiously affects how music is analyzed and taught.

It’s like fleas being outraged that the dog they live on killed a rabbit. That’s about as close to Beethoven’s level they will ever be.

Metal is heavily influenced by classical music.

And then they had to dredge up some music professionals who have a negative opinion so they can cobble together a fake story. As far as I can tell from a search, the writer - Mr. Tobin - created this story out of thin air. Tobin, a daily contributor to the Jewish News Syndicate, normally writes about issues concerning Israel but feels compelled to branch out into fake news. That is right down the NY Post's alley.
Yes, Trump supporters are busy listening to rap with lyrics filled with bitc***, hoes and nigg**.
