Just waiting to see how fast the same republicans will try and push for a nominee in the next 6 weeks that stalled Obama for a year. The hypocrisy of politics. Its how to better themselves first, the companies they work for second, & the party third. Maybe the country makes the top 10. If I could go back 30 years, I'd get involved in politics. My vote would be for sale to the highest bidder for sure.

We disagree quite a bit on these forums, but I applaud that acknowledgement of empathy. Good job Arya Stark.

Romney and Collins probably would abstain. Maybe more.
If McConnell breaks his own rule, I speculate the Dems would add seats to the court if they win.
What a mess.

I would love to see Trump nominate Merrill Garland, then see the Democrats try to find something wrong with it.

Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her
granddaughter Clara Spera: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

I’m sure she said that.

Name one POTUS who has not wished nor taken advantage of something that will cement their legacy for decades after leaving office.

An open SCOTUS seat is something US presidents dream about; and getting two or three nominations through ranks as a super wet dream.

Even if DT is voted out in November, his current and future (replacing RGB) nominated judges will influence things for one, two or more generations. Given the current bent of Justice Robert's court, he himself likely would welcome a firm "moral religious majority" on court

Mark my words, RGB's body won't even be cold before Mitch McConnell and his instruments have begun going down a list (likely long since prepared) for candidates. Only main question is whether announcement will come before election day, or after....
