Maybe.

Or maybe she just damned well wasn't going to leave until she was good and ready, and screw partisan politics. She always fought the idea that women should step aside whenever they become inconvenient.

If Scalia had known he was ill, I doubt he would have resigned either. Why should she? You either believe in the process or you don't.

If Republicans view this as a chance to rat-bleep the SC the Democrats will absolutely take off the gloves. And 100% the Republicans are going to do this despite the insane hypocrisy of it all. Be careful what you ask for.

The Democrat left took off the gloves and set them afire long ago. There is no addition act of radical extremism that has been left in reserve. They have lost control of themselves, and they have truly lost their monds

Good point. If Dems screw up this election with their Mail Campaign and it goes to SCOTUS, RGB won't be there to vote.

I say just leave the seat vacant for now. I thought the republicans were correct to let Merrick Garland wither on the vine with no hearing. They were only following exactly what Joe Biden had said, back in 1992. No nomination in an election year. Scalia's seat was vacant for roughly a year.

If Trump wins -- he gets to replace her.

If Biden wins - he gets to replace her.

Seams to be a compromise - but Americans aren't good at compromising these days.

All bets are off.

The Democrats impeached Trump over nonsense at the first of the year then refused to even deliver it to the Senate. It was the lowest of the low moves. Everyone knows it.

Now the GOP in the Senate gets payback. Expect this thing to move fast.

Mark my words.
