It is true, though, that Blacks, Hispanics, and the poor all have higher rates of obesity. All 3 of those demographic groups overwhelmingly vote Dem.
According to the CDC Non-Hispanic White Adults reported the highest Obesity mostly Republican's controlled states. How they vote doesn't mean who is in control of the state. In Manhattan it's virtually 0% obese, you wouldn't be able to make it with all the walking involved and cramming into tight spaces with the millions of people coming in and out

The map shows Non-Hispanic White adults the dark red is in all GOP states like MS, AL, OK, KY, IA, WV. I'm not making this up CDC website you can look for yourself.

It’s not necessarily the amount of food it’s the composition of the food that has changed. Big difference between grass or corn fed beef and enhanced feed fed beef that would kill them if they aren’t slaughtered. The feed eats holes in their stomachs it so potent and they are shot up with hormones so they grow faster. It’s terrible what has happened to the farm/meat industry. Makes you consider being a vegetarian except a lot of grown vegetables are a problem these days too.
It is portion sizes and the type of food that is making people obese.
