That is a good point, as I cannot even imagine the type of justices Hillary would have nominated. That would have sealed Americas demise.

I agree 110% I voted for Trump because of the courts.

As far as RBG is concerned the Left has only her ego to blame. She was asked repeatedly by the Obama Admin.to step down and refused. RBG was so certain HC would win and wanted a woman president to replace her. But it wasn't to be.

The current 6/3 tilt to the Right is a massive blow for progressives.

Who would have known her selfishness would have been the best present anyone could give to the Republican party for the next 30 years. Thank you RBG, your heart was in the right place after all.

It was her most patriotic gesture (not retiring).

The B in RBG now stands for Barrett.

It’s interesting that old conservative justices like Kennedy are willing to step aside for their ideologically attuned successors while liberals like Ginsberg and now Breyer are not.

I just don’t understand their logic.

One term alone changed 3 decades of SCOTUS direction. I knew Election 2016 likely equaled at least 2 SC picks. It became 3 as RBG departed. I had looked at lists Trump talked about early on, and noticed all were late 40s/50ish tops, at top of list. Their ages along with philosophies made the list doubly attractive.

2016 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Strict Constitutionalist SC.

So far, they have been terrific in making our founding fathers proud, and not over-reaching towards complete federal power. Our founding fathers favored local control, whenever possible.

No Strict Constitutionalist is spot on. They are prone to minimizing federal overreach, reverting to local control, whenever possible, which was also our founder's desire.

By 2050 or so, in all likelihood, one of the newest 3 will be retiring.

Happy New Year.
