He's doing everything he can to milk his old white Christian base for votes. Since he can't expand his base his only hope is to increase turnout further within it. So he uses ridiculous apocalyptic rhetoric since these people are constantly going on about how the apocalypse is at hand.
Those people were ALREADY with him. What more does it matter to make comments like this? Something like at least 80% of them already made up their minds to vote for him. Even Obama who actually spoke in front of these groups only received about 20%, which was considered to be a decent turnout for him.
When Obama put his shoes on his desk, "conservatives" were outraged until a picture of President Ford was found doing the same thing; when Obama wore a light colored suit, it was not respectful to the Office of the President. But it is OK to invoke the Almighty in hyperbole? It shouldn't, but it never fails to amaze me how far the GOP has fallen as they debase themselves to Trump who now is claiming to be anointed.
This reminded me of the coal miners that said God put the coal in the ground for them and Trump was going to save them. I wondered what happened to them. I found this:
He said what ?? That man is deranged- wooweeewoooo
