If true that makes her a perfect replacement for RBG, a nut job that had no business even being considered.
Why don't you look up what RBG did. She was a trailblazer for women. I have to say I have a lot of respect for her and Scalia because of their close friendship. They were opposites but found a common ground and mutual respect.

Her being a "trailblazer for women" does not change the fact that she was an activist judge, something that absolutely does not belong on the bench. The fact that she had friendships outside of politics does not change that either.
You can feel free to respect her as a feminist and far left activist if that's the kind of people you look up to, but that doesn't make her a quality judge, quite the opposite in fact.
Trump basically said that if RBG kicks off, his pick would be Barrett. I think that means she's going to be the pick. I know a lot less about Lagoa, so I don't know what to think about her.

That said, I like either pick but Lagoa is probably the better one.
So Amy Barrett is the front-runner, but she might get sidelined because Barbara Lagoa has been suggested likely by advisors. She is Hispanic and from Florida, which can help Trump in turning out more votes from Cuban Americans. I heard on the news from Trump's description that doesn't know Lagoa very well. So it will be more of a political play to choose her over Barrett to help with Florida and Hispanics elsewhere in his re-election.
My guess is Trump will go with Barrett as he has known of her for a longer time, and she has been on the short-list since 2017.
If Trump goes with Lagoa, it would certainly be interesting though. Kind of interesting when all anti-Kamala voices here were pointing out that Biden wanted minority woman and that was discrimination to all the other eligible candidates or something.
Most Cuban Americans already vote Republican. Chief Justices shouldn't be chosen to gain votes from any group anyway. Here we go with the identity politics again. Trump going with a female judge to replace a female judge is the not the same thing as Biden stating that he would only consider having a female, minority running mate.
Who better to be nominated for SCOTUS today than a woman with a personal connection to oppression under Marxist–Leninist leadership.
That is worth really thinking about in the current atmosphere of the country.

I don't know if liberal media twisted that, or if people didn't listen carefully, but she did not say that she would decline from voting, only that she thought the Senate should wait until after the election. Some people hear what they want to hear, but I guess most already know that.

I think Trump will use his "gut" as someone mentioned a few posts ago. Lucky for Trump, choosing a woman to replace a woman, he has some solid, experienced and educated patriotic Americans to choose from. In Biden's case, choosing a woman to just be choosing a woman (to try to get women to vote - which I find offensive being a woman myself), he chose a woman/color and look what he got!
