2) As far as Jews and blacks hating each other, well....Jews were at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement, willing to sacrifice their lives to help advance blacks’ rights. It seems recent that there is so much hostility from blacks against Jews, such as we see from Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam loyalists, but that would have to be a topic for another time.

Thank you for your response, Rachel.

(I don't really know much about it, tbh. )

How is it hypocritical? By percentages, they were no more active in the slave trade than any other population of the time. I dont believe in this newfound judging of historical figures with todays sensibilities. I dont blame Egyptians for the slavery of Jews any more than I blame your primate ancestor for stealing my primate ancestor's banana. Evolution was a long hard journey with a lot of really bad bumps along the way.

As to the animosity between Jews and Blacks, I dont really know. These two communities were allies during the civil rights movements of the 60's. I dont know what led to the fallout. Part of it is the rise of the Nation of Islam, but that isn't all of it. For what its worth, I dont see animosity toward the black community within my own little microcosm. My grandparent's generation is another story.
I'm Rh negative, I don't have primate ancestors

But I appreciate your response, thank you. It is all very interesting.

I learned about the persecution of Christians throughout history. My children were baptized, made Communion and their Confirmation, attended mass and went to Catholic grade school. I'm also Italian.

Do you think I feel ties to Rome and Italy because of all of this? I don't. That's where we really ARE different and why I don't quite get it.
Like I said in my post to the poster above, I dont think most of us hold the people of ancient history accountable for their actions. Like I said, I dont hold the ancient Egyptians accountable.

The difference with the Holocaust, is it happened within my parent's lifetime. This happened in modern, supposedly "enlightened" times. Even though I didn't lose any family, I think most of us know people who did, as well as people who escaped. That hits home a lot more than something that happened 2000 years ago.

Obsession? Clearly the OP doesn't understand that they are the only Democracy in the Middle East. Leftists dont care because they are socialists and commies in their heart of hearts.

Yes, that’s definitely what it is. As I mentioned in my post a few up, my own parents lost grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I remember my own grandmother telling me about her sister and her mother, both killed. My dad told me that although he never met his European grandmother, he and she wrote letters for years and thus he has a relationship with her.

It all hits close to home.

I'm not a biblical scholar, but there's that whole Gog & Magog thing..which you are free to investigate on your own time and interpret as you wish.
I think it has more to do with the large and wealthy Jewish population in the US.

i just can’t help but wonder why OP opened a dump-on-Israel thread just a few days after it appears that Israel and some Muslim countries have forged new alliances, and Israel looks good as a result. Bugs the liberals to no end. I’m sure Omar isn’t too happy, that’s for sure,
get a grip. I'm not from Iran and I'm not muslim.

Now why does Israel get a pass for spying on this country and working against our troops in the Levant?

Why are we paying them money, and why is it non-negotiable, why do both party leaderships pledge ever lasting support to this country?

Would you spill blood for this country?

One that has attacked the US and lead to our soldiers deaths numerous times?

Is it healthy for US congressmen to pledge alliance to a foriegn country?

Its a sick and grotesque bond that needs to be severed.

Americans are alone in this world for their religious devotion to Israel.

Two things:

1. It's in the middle east
2. It's a democracy
