Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, would all go bankrupt if they couldn't receive federal funds that other states paid for. The wealthiest states are Democratic, at the moment. The wealthiest states pay the most for funding the poorest states, which are Republican, at the moment.
It'd be awesome if states like New York and Connecticut could reduce their tax burden to the federal government. But, regardless of politics, Kentucky is a beautiful state and I'd hate to see it fail completely.
Then why are people from those wealthy states moving out in droves? California hardly has any middle class anymore, either upper to rich or barely making it by.

Here is a cheat sheet of what he has done or threatened, and like I say, inside the U.S. it's mostly just talk. And there are probably more empty threats than I couldn't think of off the top of my head. The man is a friggin' bully, pure and simple.

And? Put the money back into the hands of the voters. Let them sort it out locally.
