As a minor- have rights??

There are three reasons that minors do not have the same constitutional rights as an adult: the vulnerability of children, their limited decision-making capacity, and the important role parents play in making decisions for their children.

Under the law, children in the United States are fully formed human beings with the same basic constitutional rights that adults enjoy. Like every other citizen, children have the right to due process under the law and the right to counsel. They're also protected against cruel and unusual punishment and unreasonable searches and seizures. https://people.howstuffworks.com/do-...nal-rights.htm

Have they said how he will be tried? its in his best interest as a child but I don't know the states stips/

That's why he was charged for possession of dangerous weapon by a person under 18.

But the homicide charges are stupid. A minor still has the right to defend his life against any attacker.

But in your case the individual was attacked for no reason and was in a legal place not under a police restriction order and was legally carrying. But I am referring to a minor who crossed state lines to go to a place that had a "State of Emergency Curfew in effect east of I-94 Tuesday night, Aug. 25" as there had been a "Countywide emergency curfew in effect until 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24". He armed himself illegally with a long rifle and put himself in a situation he was ill prepared to encounter leading to him killing an unarmed man and you don't see how his actions lead to this situation which could have been avoided as I originally stated.

every single person at that protest violated curfew violation. what is your point?

Yeah, he committed a crime "possession of dangerous weapon by a person under 18" and they charged him for it. But that does not mean he cannot defend his life.
