No, masks are not "worse than nothing because they collect the virus and bacteria on them, people touch their masks and spread even more germs around." False statement.

Lancet, June 1, 2020

The findings of this systematic review of 172 studies (44 comparative studies; n=25 697 patients) on COVID-19, SARS, and MERS provide the best available evidence that current policies of at least 1 m physical distancing are associated with a large reduction in infection, and distances of 2 m might be more effective. These data also suggest that wearing face masks protects people (both health-care workers and the general public) against infection by these coronaviruses, and that eye protection could confer additional benefit. However, none of these interventions afforded complete protection from infection, and their optimum role might need risk assessment and several contextual considerations. No randomised trials were identified for these interventions in COVID-19, SARS, or MERS.

1 meter= 3feet , "associated w/ a large reduction in infection"
"Wearing face masks 'protects' people against infection by these coronarviruses"

Protect--Synonyms for protect

bulwark, cover, defend, fence, fend, forfend, guard, keep, safeguard, screen, secure, shield, ward
So, masks "defend, guard, safeguard, secure" from infection.

One factual point, yes, Obama along w/ other previous Presidents did not stockpile masks or nec. supplies, not only T. All didn't do what they should have. Also, hospital administrators, etc. were not prepared. No excuse.

200,000 dead americans.
One has to wonder. How many of those 200,000 had other issues that were killing them? How many Stage 4 cancers? How many were in hospice care already? How many would have died from any other flu?

The excess deaths (at the CDC) show this line of thinking to be deeply flawed. let it go.
