As long as there is a trial and it can be proven that someone made a false allegation, I agree completely.

There should definitely be real legal consequences, and also the names of the false accusers should be revealed and publicized. The name of the accused is exposed whether they are guilty or not, but the accuser is sometimes protected even when the accusation is false.

Can anyone make a logical argument as to why they should NOT be classified for life as sex offenders?

They are non-traditional sexual predators.

Filing a false police report is filing a false police report it is not a sex crime.
Why should one lying about rape be a different crime than lying about murder, theft, assault? Laws and punishments should not be based on emotions.

How is that for a logical argument.

If so, yes, the penalty should be worse than filing a false police report or whatever. The court of public opinion treats alleged rapists differently than most other alleged crimes.

How do you prove yourself innocent of a crime that is only a crime becomes the female partner decides she is, or was, non-consenting?

How does the male partner prove her claims false?

Even if he is vindicated in court, his life will still be ruined.

Go into a police station and accuse someone of murdering you. While you're still alive.

i'll play devil's advocate (i don't really agree with this example but just throwing it out there) but one reason i could see is if a woman made an accusation and it was proven to be false, and she registered as a sex offender, I could see some rapist really go rape her and say "she's lying like before". It would put a target on her.

Agree 100% False accusations /= sex offender. Not to mention, most rapists don't get added to the sex offender list.

Plus, unreported sexual assaults far, far, FAR outweigh the rate of false accusations. This would only push reporting down further. Your real concern should be about how to get those rapists identified and punished.

This already happens, even with legitimate accusations. Most claims are not "proven false" but rather are not prosecuted due to insufficient evidence, etc.

The frequently cited Duke lacrosse case where the victim came back and said someone didn't rape her? She was intoxicated and on one or more prescription medications. The case ultimately fell apart because she couldn't tell who did what. And the players involved sued and won $$$ in damages.

According to conservative estimates, the lab had discovered at least two unidentified males' DNA in Mangum's pubic region; at least two unidentified males' DNA in her rectum; at least four to five unidentified males' DNA on her underpants; and at least one identified male's DNA in her vagina.
Sure, she's nothing but a liar.
