Drain the swamp was a favorite campaign slogan of Donald Trump. Who is in the swamp? The swamp are the career bureaucrats, the FBI, and the CIA. Well, as an American I am proud of the FBI and the CIA. I'm also proud of the diplomats who came forward to tell the truth during the impeachment investigation.

Do you know who the real swamp is. The real swamp are those who buy our politicians and have them do things that are not in the best interest of the American people. This includes the billionaire families that fund the foundations that are trying to take us back to the nineteenth century. The Swamp is K street because they represent those who don't represent us.

True enough.

Big Money donors and lobbyists for special (big business) interests are the real constituency. Often our congressional representatives spend hours at a time meeting with or on the phone with these people, receptively listening to their deepest concerns. Town Halls are out of fashion, the voters have just one function, to ratify the decisions of the Dark Constituency. The advertising those people pay for is intended to assure that we vote their way.

Then we can be ignored for another two years.

DeVos, Sondeland got their positions because of their donations.

That's the swamp.

But let's get real....when Trump said drain the swamp he wasn't meaning that he wouldn't 'reward' folks who supported him ...he meant that he was going to get rid of people that didn't agree with him.

Lots of swampy things on both sides.

Trump, priding himself as being this big business man, has been all too eager to play with the corporate lobbyists to please them for their support. He doesn't understand that for us ordinary voters -- this kind of cozening up to corporations and lobbyists is part of the problem. Decisions are made then for those corporations - -not for every day Americans.

Wrong again. The swamp are the people and the institutions who have been entrenched in DC for decades and who had gotten a bit too comfortable with their prestige.

Enter Trump.

And things haven't been the same since. The swamp wants nothing better than to return to business as usual.

Trump goes after everyone who doesn't agree with him. The real swamp are the lobbyists who poison the water that makes your beer.

Trump is just a trouble maker who likes to fight with everyone.

One doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at such proclamations and the obvious lack of insight as to what govt actually is/does.
