Newsweek got caught embellishing that story and had to change it.

If Barrett believes men have authority over their wives, then her husband should be vetted for the seat, since she will naturally defer to him on any decision.

did you not see where Newsweek had to admit that the group the movie was based on was an entirely different group that Barrett has no connection to?

You're exaggerating.

The Newsweek story said the group was one of the ones that inspired Margaret Atwood when she wrote The Handmaid's Tale. It was actually a similarly named group. There's a correction reflecting that at the end of the article.

Gonna park this here... and in every one of these threads about this good woman.

US Constitution
Article VI paragraph 3

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

So, she's a submissive handmaid in a kooky sect ...who somehow managed to make it to the Supreme Court short list. Seems like someone let her out of the house long enough to do all that.

My guess is that Trump is trolling the media by making it look like she's the pick. They spend an entire week bashing Catholics and making themselves look bad, and then he'll pick Lagoa.

in point of fact, the so called "correction" is an admission that the entire article is utterly and completely false but they aren't taking it down. they aren't issuing a retraction. they aren't issuing an apology for their zealous over reach in an effort to destroy this woman.

The FACT is, the article is based on an utterly false premise. They have left the article in tact and at the end said "this isn't really true but it could be true"

That is evil. if you are defending news week, you are defending evil.
