Yes, I would trust a candidate with a cowboy hat, but never, ever with a baseball cap worn backwards!

Hells yes I'd trust an elected official in a cowboy hat.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think a cowboy hat should be mandatory for elected office (in select states)..

It depends. I suspect many politicians wear a cowboy hat to pander to voters. It makes them look phony in those cases. If they're legitimately wearing a cowboy hat because of its functionality then that's fine. Otherwise, they're all hat no cattle.

I don't like phone cowboy hat wearers - or big silver buckles they didn't win. And I hate spray painted straws like the godawful ones Tim McGraw wears. But that's just me. I'm picky about cowboy hats and who wears them.

I shared that thought for a long time, but I eventually realized hats are just another clothing item. Most clothing starts out as necessary practical everyday wear, and only becomes fashionable when it's so good for its purpose many people begin wearing it.

A cowboy hat shades my head and keeps the sun out of my eyes. It keeps my head dry when its wet outside.

It does the same if I'm riding a horse as it does when I'm mowing the lawn. Or driving a car. I figure if it works for me, why not let it work for someone else who's never ridden a horse or owned a cow?

If the girls want to wear them 5o the beach sprayed pink, why not?

I'll still wear mine regardless of whether it's a hot fashion item or not. If others like them too, that's just fine with me. No need to be selfish.

1. Sex and the City ceased production 16 years ago. Season 3 was made back in 2001.

2. President Trump wears a ball cap regularly

3. Re: the cowboy hat. Sure. Why not.

4. I don't get your last comment about robber barrons and porn kings, but don't care enough to ask what you meant.

Everyone of our recent past presidents wore a Cowboy even Obama. At least on occasion. GWB wore one often.

A hunting cap would look more appropriate for Michigan. Cowboy hats look silly with the high ridges and curved brims. The Asian conical hat with a chin strap is a simpler and cheaper solution for sun and rain.
