Maybe the liberals on this board can help answer that question. If you have created such great areas to live in with great government and services, why are you moving out of those areas in droves to more conservative areas? This makes no sense at all, unless you realize what you have created in the liberal cities is not so great?

They usually don't. People move from NYC or California to other blue cities like Austin and Nashville.

I don't think there is an exodus from LA to the Mississippi Delta.

I've always lived in a red state and mostly rural. We aren't city people. However, even in the smallest town or most rural area we've always been able to find an enclave of liberal friends.

Hmmmm……………….. I think you are wrong.

You can't buy a house in the Banner Elk area in the Blue Ridge of North Carolina. There is a huge number of people from NY who are moving there to get away from all the liberal policies and crime they voted for. They call them "halfbacks"- they go to FL and then go halfway back to NY.

CA has been infesting nearby states and bringing their insane ideas, which ruin those areas too.

Liberals do not seem to understand- the reason their communities suck is not because of their geography, it is BECAUSE OF THEM. So when they move to a nice place and bring their far left values, they destroy that area too.

There have been halfbacks for decades now. It's not a new thing.

There is always a few rats in the corn crib. Fortunately, libs do not like the more rugged outdoor areas and stick to places where they can get a Starbucks and a New York Times. That leaves the great outdoors to us- the people who appreciate and will maintain the natural beauty.

Look at CO. The libs have moved into Denver, Aurora, and Fort Collins, but have left the small mountain communities alone. Why? It is too hard for them to live there.

Fortunately libs just infest cities and leave most of the countryside alone.

Let's imagine you pursue a career in an area with an energetic economy and housing prices that reflect the desirability. That will quite often be a deep-blue city. Once you want to perhaps enjoy the fruits of that investment, downsize a bit, slow down a little - well, then it's quite tempting to look at areas where your equity stretches a bit further. And they do tend to be a bit redder. That's just the market.

Why would you be obliged to change your political viewpoint, though?

We move where we want, and we're not interested in your approval.

It is not "new", but is increasing in volume dramatically.

Heck, there are New Yorkers now in the mountains in Eastern TN, attracted by the scenery, no taxes, and no "diversity". Fortunately there are not enough to make a difference in any election...……… yet.

Unfortunately, they have infested NC and have changed some elections.
