Diabetics are prone to inflammation, and are more likely to develop and die from pneumonia from the flu than ordinary people. I'm sure a significant % of those people if they did not get Covid-19 would get the flu and end up dying from that.
Now, what's even more fun, what happens when someone is tested and found to have both the flu and Covid virus in their system, and they die from respiratory complications? How would their death be classified? Why, under current CDC guidelines, from Covid. If you think the scenario I laid out is rare, it's actually very common.
Now, I have had many family and friends up to now infected by this virus. While they all fared differently, many of them described it as milder than the typical cold or flu. I'm sure many flu deaths are being misattributed as Covid-19 deaths.
We will need to wait for 2021, and examine total deaths for 2020 against 2019 (adjust by population raise normally).
Right now, if someone dies of a heart attack and is tested + for Covid-19, it's counted as a Covid-19 death which is insane without precise autopsy leading to the conclusion the heart was otherwise healthy except for tissue being infected with that virus.
Immediate cause(s) of death. Antecedent causes. Then other conditions present at the time of death.
Your first case would be respiratory failure on line 1. Both influenza and Covid 19 on line 2.
Your second case - immediate cause on line 1. If the Covid 19 precipitated the heart attack, then it would be placed on line 2. Otherwise on line 3 as a condition present at the time of death.

If I'm catching your drift correctly, Mr. Trump IS his own worst enemy in some respects.
Although, I would say he is also quite frankly 'in on a plot' to undermine public confidence in the integrity of free & fair US elections, intent on sowing & stirring general discord & division in American political processes, & is actively seeking to blatantly attack basic principles of a democracy.
Phony numbers...example if someone died in a motorcycle accident and had Covid 19...the cause of death would listed due to Covid-19...even the scarf queen admitted Covid 19 fatality numbers were inflated!
They use actual numbers, but knowing that weekly numbers can only be estimates because of lags in reporting.
The chart has the orange line which represents the threshold for statistically significant excess deaths over and above the actual numbers.
The blue bars are usually below the orange bar since statistically significant excess deaths have not been common the last few years.
But since around the end of March when the Pandemic really started to hit the USA, the blue bars extend upward giving weekly estimates of excess deaths from whatever cause.
Excess deaths (mainly due to Covid 19) are now coming back down.
We should not expect the death rate from all causes to go down significantly, barring some medical or socioeconomic miracles. The rate should not typically go down to the orange line since it takes a substantial change in the weekly death rate to become statistically significant.

That's my point. To try to make a claim that his cancer somehow played a significant role in his death is ridiculous.

That's like saying no British civilians died in the London Blitz. Its like saying they did not die from German bombs, they died from falling bricks and fire. Sure they died from the falling bricks, the fires, and so forth, but the precipitating cause was the bombs.
