I was watching some 3rd season Sex & the City and the comment was that these days, no politician wears a hat. That the last President did was FDR (actually I think Truman did, too).
These days, about the only hat a civilian man could get away with wearing is a cowboy hat. So would such a man be trusted?
Or, have we been taught to distrust such men because of modern day robber barons and porn kings?

of course I would; I could care less what type of hat someone wear or if they wear one. This isn't the last century; today, almost anything goes and some things probably should not go, but the hat, I don't give a darn.

If someone disqualifies a person because s/he wears a cowboy hat, well......I don't even know what to say about that. I think one issue voters are myopic so voting or not voting for someone based on the candidate's headwear is incredibly shallow.
I seem to recall seeing George W. Bush wearing a cowboy hat from time to time, although nothing like regularly.
We have a well known representative who is known for his big ole cowboy hat. Never heard a bad thing about him, and people smile if his name is ever mentioned. For what that's worth. Odd question.

Man?
Sometimes cowboy hats are worn by women. In this case the woman is a pure buffoon and should not be trusted.
