I am a conservative Indep. There are democrats I vote for and Republicans as well. I never vote part because both parties pretty much represent anything and everything that will hurt middle class people. The democrats are now the anti-white party so why would I vote for someone that demonizes me due to the color of my skin.

The Unaffordable care act was a massive tax increase that hammered the middle class and did nothing for us. Not one Republican vote went into that abortion. There isn't any reason for me to support either major party.

Before I immigrated to the US, I never even heard of the political parties, and did not know the history nor really anything after I was here and gained citizenship.

I find unlike many countries in Europe, the two parties in the US have a pretty large variance among each other, overlapping in many ways. A Seattle Democrat is not the same as a Virginia for example.

I did find myself voting much more for Republicans than Democratic during my time in the US, despite my wealth status, having gone from dirt poor to upper middle class with a wealth portfolio of around $3 million+. I do not belong to any party though, cannot vote in the party primaries here in Florida.

Of course it is a local/regional thing, the Republicans I vote for here in Miami are not the same ones in Alabama.

Overall, I have no real pressing focus of why I vote, for example, for presidents, I voted Bush twice, Obama Twice, and Hillary last time. Overall, the thing that irritates me about Democrats in general is they try to turn every little thing into a race and/or sex issue, no matter what it is, and they are fanatic over thinking society should stop and bend over backwards for people who all in all, want the gov to take care of them. I do not even think I described it right...

I just cannot get on such support bandwagon.

Good question, and that seems to be what alot of upper middle class suburbanites, Westchester/Fairfield types, are thinking. I am doing good so who cares about those "uneducated" blue collar types. And I need the illegal labor - OMG who is going to cut my lawn! What would the neighbors think!

Well maybe trying to help your fellow Americans is a good thing? Just saying.

And it cannot hurt to help bring at least some of the jobs and factories back from overseas. Maybe pay some of the taxes to local and state taxes and put some money in the local economy.

Those of us who are single and child-free, are going to get fleeced by either party.

Amen brother, that I agree. You can make a point that both parties will fleece you. One party directly by constantly raising taxes, tolls and fees. The other more quietly by removing protections from corporations and letting them do what they want. It is why I am an Independent, I see the Republican party as the lessor of two evils.
I think where you and me have lived shape what we've seen. You live in the NYC metropolitan area (Long Island likely based on your username). I spend a decent-size chunk of my life in the Atlanta metropolitan area. I never came up working class. I come from a middle class family. My father is educated, and he's a white collar professional. I can sort of relate/not relate all at once.

I've noticed a gap between the upper middle class and the working class (well, rather the White working class and White upper middle class). The upper class suburbanites living in places like Alpharetta and Roswell aren't thinking very much about the working class residents living in places like Paulding County, Bartow County, or anywhere else. And yet, Republicans do well in those areas. Wealthier Republicans are more likely to emphasize private institutions alot more. They want less taxes because they want to keep the money for their own areas, for their own quality of life. One example of this includes HOAs. Working class Republicans, on the other hand, often vote based on other issues. In Georgia, issues like the Confederate flag, gay marriage, illegal aliens, those tend to be more prominent issues among the working class individuals I met.

As for being single and childless, this is what I call the Bachelor tax. If you are a Bachelor, you are going to get fleeced no matter what. I've noticed that when it comes to libertarians, there is a higher likelihood of such among bachelors than any other demographics, at least in my experience. Bachelors getting fleeced isn't just about the tolls or fees, or about removing protections. It's literally about paying more and getting less than anyone else. I don't see the Republican Party as the lesser of two evils. The GOP can fleece you too, and not just by removing regulations. The GOP might be more likely to support tax credits for working families, but the GOP isn't thinking about the single, childless individuals. In fact, I was say the GOP views bachelor types as a threat. And they could use the DOJ stats to back it up. Single, childless men do make up a large part of the prison population. Just the same, being a bachelor makes you more susceptible to being fleeced, on both sides.

He wrote a best seller. That'll do it.

It's not like he owns a string of hotels and golf courses, or has engaged in bank fraud and money laundering, or cheated a charity. He wrote a book, good for him.

Because unlike the Democrats, he doesn't work with Russia to attempt a coup, and then try to blame it on the very person they tried to attempt the coup with.

Your party sucks, so badly, I can't believe anyone would ever vote for such lying scum bags.

They lied to your face for 4 years, got your hopes up, and in the end, it was they who actually colluded.

Screw the Democrat party.

Unless you’re poor, what’s the point of backing Democrats?

Now, the question is, why should you vote Democrat, if you're not poor? Because you want to live in poverty and oppression? Because you want to destroy this country?
This, exactly.

Normal Liberals refuse to believe there is a liberal elite in this country. Athletes, entertainers, executives, musicians, politicians, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, etc.

They never stopped to think just where Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama live. Hint: it isn’t near people of color.

AOC lives in a penthouse in DC while her NYC constituents are on food stamps, not a bad gig if you can get it.
