Former Douglas County chairman Tom Worthan was recorded saying things like "governments run by Black people will bankrupt you". He said that Tim Pounds (Black man who was running for sheriff) "will put his black brothers in positions that maybe they're not qualified to be in". He also said that if the Pounds for won, Pounds would "he would put a bunch of blacks in leadership positions".
Steve King, a representative out of Iowa, said "western societies are threatened by nonwhite immigrants". He is also famous for having a Confederate flag on his desk.
Roy Moore, who ran for Senate in Alabama, said that every amendment after the 10th Amendment needed to be rid of. Now, consider that those amendments include those that abolished slavery, and assured Blacks the right to vote.
So because a few people I have never heard of said some things of this nature means you can stereotype an entire party? I thought the Democrats frowned upon stereotyping as it is one of the foundations of racism...

Actually, you are the one saying Democrats are the problem. I brought that stuff up not to stereotype Republicans, but to show you that it is happening with Republicans. You started by saying things about certain signs that you saw. I responded by saying that in this society, I feel like I'm looked down and seeing those signs is encouraging to me. You responded by saying that Democrats are the problem, stereotyping Democrats. I turned around and showed you examples of Republicans saying similar things.
I know a very not wealthy guy, late 50s, type 2 diabetes and recently had detached retinas in both eyes requiring surgery for one and laser treatment for the other, all paid for (beyond the rather high $4k deductible) by the Affordable Care Act. But this guy voted for Trump in 2016 and plans to do so again this November. Talk about voting against your own self interest.
There's no reasoning with him. His rationale for voting Republican seems to shift over time, last week it was abortion. If the ACA is overturned by the Supreme Court and replaced by some sort of skimpy Trumped up insurance plans, this guy is going to suffer.
I see Democratic signs everywhere stating love over this and love over that. Let me tell you what...love doesn't make rational decisions. This is why I vote Republican.
"Love over borders" ..what kind of crap is that?
"Love over hate"...yet they all hate Trump
Etc, etc...
They just hope that sign deters BLM terrorists from burning their house down
Something I never understood and never made any sense at all.. We have decades of examples when only one small segment of people benefit from the right wing running things. Joe Bob at the Jiffy Lube gains nothing backing right wing millionaire that inherited from their right wing parents or from shady business practices in the private sector
Far from wealthy here, and i don't want to vote for higher taxes, and a stagnant economy. I want to see my investments and career do well. I've been in the workforce 30 plus years, and looking back i've always prospered during GOP leadership, and suffered when the Democrats were in charge. I have no choice but to vote Republican.

So you are assuming that a new Trump healthcare bill would be worse than the ACA? Why would you assume that? You're letting your political bias get in the way. Many Americans have had their premiums go through the roof under the ACA. No comments about that?
Before I immigrated to the US, I never even heard of the political parties, and did not know the history nor really anything after I was here and gained citizenship.
I find unlike many countries in Europe, the two parties in the US have a pretty large variance among each other, overlapping in many ways. A Seattle Democrat is not the same as a Virginia for example.
I did find myself voting much more for Republicans than Democratic during my time in the US, despite my wealth status, having gone from dirt poor to upper middle class with a wealth portfolio of around $3 million+. I do not belong to any party though, cannot vote in the party primaries here in Florida.
Of course it is a local/regional thing, the Republicans I vote for here in Miami are not the same ones in Alabama.
Overall, I have no real pressing focus of why I vote, for example, for presidents, I voted Bush twice, Obama Twice, and Hillary last time. Overall, the thing that irritates me about Democrats in general is they try to turn every little thing into a race and/or sex issue, no matter what it is, and they are fanatic over thinking society should stop and bend over backwards for people who all in all, want the gov to take care of them. I do not even think I described it right...

Neither, I should note, does hate. But fear and hate is what DJT is packaging. Elections are often driven by emotional responses, rather than rational. Otherwise our history would be very different.

Yes, I am assuming that. As I recall, the healthcare plan that McCain voted against would have cost me 50 or 60% of my income in monthly premiums. The guy I mentioned in my post pays $0 now, because of Obamacare subsidies, but apparently he's eager to take whatever crumbs the Republican healthcare schemes may toss his way and pay whatever it takes.
Many Americans had their premiums go through the roof before the ACA, too. It's helped more people than it's hurt as far as I know. For those paying sky high premiums now under the ACA, yeah, it stinks. But Donald Trump tells us that Medicare for All is socialism, so we can't have *that* now, can we?
