this won't lead to an enormous surge of felons suddenly identifying as female. that would be silly.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law on Saturday requiring California to house transgender inmates in prisons based on their gender identity — but only if the state does not have “management or security concerns.”

The law says the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation cannot deny those requests solely because of inmates' anatomy, sexual orientation or “a factor present” among other inmates at the facility.

That's just asking for a lawsuit from an abused prisoner... and it probably won't take long. The law SHOULD say you forfeit some degree of 'choice' if you find yourself incarcerated at that level.

I disagree with that. if ones gender identity is legally recognized in regards to everything else in society, then it should also be recognized by the courts and law enforcement.

Besides that, if they place a man who identifies as a woman, into a womens prison, (if he was just being dishonest, that will become apparent immediately)

If Democrat Socialistic Terrorists don't believe in biological gender and promote transgenders,, then why did they march for women's rights

I say they go straight to the mental institution. This self identification has gone too far.

Wow - the state I grew up in is truly the "Land of Woke".

Berkeley banned the use of the word "man hole"

SF banned the use of the words "convicted criminals"

Pedo friendly laws.

There was legislation considered for gender neutral clothing sections for children with $1000 fines for stores that wouldn't comply.

Free stuff for illegals with my tax money.

A bill just passed for Reparations.

Now this.

It's a freak show here in CA.

How would you tell of he was being dishonest?

It violates the women prisoners' rights.

The better solution, especially for a state as populated as California, is a transgender prison. Smaller states should have at least a wing in one facility for males transgenders and one for females transgenders.
