And, hypothetically, what if Trump paid 0$ in taxes, but broke no laws according to the IRS...then so what?
If a person legally pays 0$ in taxes, its a non-story. If you don't like it, change the tax code.
One of his campaign messages was that he knows how the elite exploits the tax system to pay low taxes and that he would close those loopholes. Instead he delivered a tax break.
I'm guessing this is not the October surprise Don the Con had in mind. Avoidance of income taxes tsk tsk tsk. Not a good look, Mr. President. And very nasty. Oh, so unfair and nasty.
Despite President Trump's choice not to publish his tax returns, the New York Time has somehow obtained records supposedly of those returns. They have apparently released them publicly, without President Trump's permission.
Publishing someone's tax returns against his wishes is illegal, of course, without an active, legal warrant.

The New York Times has obtained tax-return data for President Trump and his companies that covers more than two decades. Mr. Trump has long refused to release this information, making him the first president in decades to hide basic details about his finances. His refusal has made his tax returns among the most sought-after documents in recent memory.
Among the key findings of The Times’s investigation:
Mr. Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that The Times examined. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.
His audit is because they believe he took seventy something million he shouldn’t have and is facing having to payback $100 million.
Democrats are acting like the Grinch who stole Christmas. They steal, cheat, and lie to try to hurt Trump and make him look bad. What they don’t realize is people who like Trump don’t like him because they think he paid a lot of taxes; they like him because he’s addressing the issues people have been complaining about for decades.
