Many of these so-called losses and deductions are questionable at best. Now we see why Trump was ready to risk our national security in Ukraine and pals around with Putin, and is trying to undermine the US election process: the day this scumbag leaves office, he is going to be hit with 50 subpoenas for tax fraud. Not only that, but his debtors now know that he can't pay, that he is flat-ass broke, and they will call his loans.
Then whoever had that info under an agreement of trust and privacy (if they even did) committed the felony. Where the person(s) who stole the info and then gave the stolen info to the NY Times actually worked is irrelevant.
What is relevant is that even if that person was legally allowed to view that information, several very clear and distinct laws made it a felony for them to share that information with anyone without Donald Trump's explicit permission.
An individual citizen of the US has had their individual liberty grossly violated. Period. The violation is, in point of fact, a felony violation of several federal laws. The NY Times, in publishing said illegally obtained information, is guilty of several felonies under federal law as well.
That nobody but a handful of people recognize this saddens and repulses me.
Then let Donnie sue the NYT. As stated previously, he might not want to know what else they know about him, and a lawsuit could very well bring it out in the open.
A crook has been exposed. How did you feel about Wikileaks publishing private and confidential emails, BTW...?
It possibly does when he has $421M in loans coming due over the next couple of years that he personally is on the hook for. It has not been made clear to whom those loans are from so how can we possibly trust him to run the country without second guessing every decision he makes and if it benefits him in some way instead of the people. Look at his Covid response. It was beneficial to his businesses (hotels, golf courses) to downplay the situation so as not to cause harm to his bottom line because he can't let those businesses fail. The guy has been profiting off of the Presidency for 4 years now. 300 days of golf all at his resorts where the tax players are paying insane amounts of money to his resorts/golf clubs. It's all about trump and it always has been and always will be. I won't be shocked to see over the next couple of years him being convicted of tax fraud and/or it coming to light that his loans were made by people that he personally helped during his presidency. Excuse me now, I have to go get a haircut because i need to be presentable for my Zoom meeting.............let me go write that off
write off that haircut
The RNC pays for Ronna's every time she makes an appearance. Most of the time it is 500-1000 bucks.
Excuse me. Most individuals and all the corporations I know take every LEGAL tax deduction they can. Trump's lawyers and accountants see to that. He's not sitting at his kitchen table doing his tax returns. If you have a problem with U.S. and State tax codes (the law), lobby your representatives to have them changed.
Again, do you have any idea how many legal deductions the Trump administration
and congress has now removed from middle class earners????
Of course, they also gave a generous deduction for those who bought a new private
jet.

Questionable? What? They are LEGAL tax deductions under the U.S. Tax Code that his LAWYERS and accountants make sure are legal and usable. Stop guessing and making accusations that you know nothing about.

From this thread and others, I see some republicans are ok with current tax law and loopholes and people taking advantage of them so that these basic services are not adequately funded and that the middle class takes the brunt of the tax burden. According to some Republicans, the wealthy skipping out on carrying their load through write offs and loopholes while the middle class picks up the tab is just the wealthy being "smart" and "savvy".
Why are some Republicans ok with he wealthy having and using loopholes to not carry their load like the middle class?
Trump's Mar-a-Lago property generated $500,000.00 for Palm Beach County, which is where and how schools are primarily funded in that county.
This thread makes for good game of "Fun with the search engine", btw.

The standard deduction increase helped so many normal, middle class earners. It simplified taxes for so many.
The one place it hit most middle class people were SALT deductions for people in high tax states.
