Remember recently when Trump flubbed a comment and spoke of "herd mentality" for the coronavirus? He meant herd immunity, of course.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ar/5812463002/

But Dems shrugged it off, except of course the comics who mocked him. It's not just that Trump is an old guy, and some people think he has dementia. It's just that it's the kind of mistake anyone might make.

Contrast that - and all Trump's other verbal flubs - with the way his supporters rush to jump on any trip-of-the tongue that Biden makes.

Oh, and then add to that all the times they twist Biden's words to make him sound dumb. At some point, Biden said something like, Sometimes I think it's 1920. Trump supporters twisted that to imply Biden was losing a grip. In actuality it was a speech comparing attitudes today to a century ago. It's just Trumpy lies and meanness.

Rational people could pass off Trump's pre-2016 election behavior as campaign rhetoric and his lack of a political track record worked in his favor. In 2020, years of dysfunctional leadership as POTUS gives Democrats a treasure trove of more substantial, visible flaws to message against. Even for a traditionally partisan voter, it is harder to ignore messaging of Trump's visible stumbles and failures that have effected people's lives profoundly. Trump and the RNC's campaign/messaging against Biden comes across disingenuous, reeks of desperation, and appeals only to Trump's base. In summary, there is no upside to Democrats messaging against petty gaffes that Trump would jump on.

Very well put. I think you're right about early campaign rhetoric - although anyone paying attention would have noticed even then that Trump's insults were outside any norm. I also agree that Trump's messages are unlikely to persuade anyone outside his base - and he never treid to. Wwhich perfectly shows his total lack of leadership. A god leader can persuade. He can't.

Yes, it was funny that even Trump tried to run with the Delaware State thing even though it was not even a gaffe.

Today some right winger was going on about how Biden said 206 "million" instead of 206 "thousand".

Another I-hate-Trump thread from little clarallel? Has she ever posted anything else?

Hmm... has anyone ever seen little clarallel and Joe Biden in the same room at the same time?

The fact that you can be a member of this forum and post this is laughable. Almost every thread, troll, and ****poster is a MAGA Trumper posting RNC and Trump campaign talking points that are often verifiably untrue, but you think it's suspicious that there is a poster that doesn't fit that mold?
