So. I finally read the NYT Trump tax story because I wanted to see what line was being reported for taxes owed and I came across this about the $750 in 2016 and 2017. Per the NYT own story, Trump actually paid to the US Treasury $1 million in 2016 and $4.2 million in 2017.

Read that closely. Trump PAID, as in transferred to the US Treasury, $1 million in 2016 and $4.2 million in 2017. Note also that most of the overpayment was rolled forward, not refunded. The $750 figure is an ADDITIONAL $750. Thus every single story saying he paid $750 is a lie.
You don't expect the truth out of the NYT, do you? Especially not this close to the election. There is a reason they waited 20 years to fabricate this particular story now.
If I recall correctly, the NYT article has stuffed away deep within their story the fact that Trump paid an accumulative 25 million in taxes during a period of years. That’s not nearly as interesting and pearl-clutching though as him paying $750 during a couple of years.
I’m pretty sure his finances are gleaned through by a very large staff of IRS personnel. If there are improprieties they’ll eventually uncover them and he will be indicted/tried/sentenced. Until then he’s as innocent as the next guy. Sorry Dems. That’s how the law works.
As long as Trump has not done anything that the IRS determines improper or illegal I don't see that it makes any difference.
How many people pay more than they have to?
