How many people have tested positive now? I'm starting to lose track. I feel bad for the White House staff. I don't feel bad for Chris Christie or anyone else who was stupid enough to not wear a mask and socially distance. I never wish illness or death on people, of course, but give them sympathy? Not a chance.
Never underestimate the power of peer pressure. It can make even intelligent people do stupid things. Just look at any of that footage from the Rosa Garden event if you have any doubts.
I think the rapid test has 40% false negatives for people with no symptoms.
And you can have the virus a few days before a test can detect it.
What we witnessed were political leaders taking their cue from the president that sitting close and not wearing masks are ok even if tested negative. That is not true and we've known that for a while now that gatherings still have a lot of risk. Trump took the position that he will decide, not health experts, how to hold gatherings. And ALL those in attendance did the SAME! A nomination ceremony is a big event and instead of doing it virtually, Trump wanted the optics of a normal looking ceremony. It's careless and irresponsible when you ignore health experts.
"...The Pew data, however, make it clear that the shift toward the extreme has happened among Democrats, not Republicans.
This can be seen in dramatic fashion when you look at where the center of each party was in 1994, and where it is today. Pew used a 10-item scale of political values to determine ideological purity among those who claim affiliation with the two parties. The results show that while the Republican center moved only slightly to the right over the past 23 years, the center of Democratic part shifted far to the left. (See the nearby chart.)..."
What you TDSers fail to understand is that Trump is not especially conservative. You mistake loud talking with extremist political positions. He is more pro gay marriage than Obama was in 2008. His border positions are consistent with Obama in 2008. His tax positions are probably to the left of the 1994 Contract with America. He is left of the Republican center on health care. His budget positions are definitely left of the Republican center. He is left of both George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. His trade positions really are more like the Democrats used to have.
"I" am an "Independent" genius YOU have moved really far off the Right deep end
today is Oct 6, 1:40 PM EST, Christie hasn't posted since Oct 3.
