Some VA hospitals are good some arent. The average person is certainly not getting the level of treatment they would get if they went to Walter Reed and/or the level of treatment a president is going to get whatever his party is.

Why can't you just admit that the BEST HEALTHCARE AVAILABLE ON PLANET EARTH IS U.S. GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTHCARE and we will be in agreement.

Dumb thread. Of course he has the best medical care, he is the freaking president. That level of care is unaffordable for most people AND unnecessary for 99.9% of people.

You're barking up the wrong tree. So typical of low-info partisans.

The problem isn't the insurance companies.

The health insurance industry has a profit margin of only 3.3%.

https://naic.org/documents/topic_ins...ind_report.pdf
That's the National Association of State Insurance Commissioners, the association that holds health insurers' feet to the fire if they think their practices, etc., are questionable.

MUCH higher profit margins in the following...

Outpatient Care Centers: 15.9%
Other Health Care Providers' Offices: 14.2%
Pharmaceutical Industry: 13.8%
Physician's Offices: 11.5%
Medical and Diagnostic Laboratories: 11.1%

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...stract/2762308

https://www.inc.com/jeff-haden/the-1...profitabl.html

And just for fun, compare the above profit margins to those of some well-known corporations...

Much-maligned Walmart's profit margin is only 4.70%
https://ycharts.com/companies/WMT/profit_margin

Meanwhile, Apple's and Google's (including Android products and spinoff services) profit margins are:

Apple (iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, etc.): 18.85%
https://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/profit_margin

Google (Alphabet): 18.17%
https://ycharts.com/companies/GOOG/profit_margin

And look at how many people just can't live without their iPhone or Android cell phone but no one says one word about either company's egregiously exploitative profiteering, which negatively impacts the poor the most.

I actually think it's a very good thread.

Not trying to overly politicize this issue, because it would be the same for any POTUS, but this did make me wonder if most people would be taken or admitted to the hospital if they had the same severity of symptoms as Trump, even if money was no object.

How would that be different for someone with run-of-the mill insurance? What about someone on Medicare/Medicaid? What about someone with no insurance?

My thinking is there are different "levels" of care depending on one's position, socioeconomics, and insurance status.

My notion is that elected leader should live like the lowest of low in society and get same health care. You know that ancient 10x50 mobile home with the 2x2 studs and aluminum wiring and wind blowing through it in winter. Health care means going to emergency room for a cold and racking up his personal debt. He should be paid minimum wage and have to buy his food on that, or if you feel sorry for him, give him food stamps available in that locale for somebody on minimum wage. Either that or self medicating with whatever is in Walmart vitamin aisle. Perhaps this would get leaders attention to needs of society. Billionaires living like billionaire means he is clueless and thinks the poor should just eat cake if they cant afford bread.
I'm sure you had this same position in 2012.

This person is arguing that a typical VA is as good as Walter Reed?

At what point does adults making choices enter in?

Anyone attending his rallies knows Covid is out there and know they won't get the same medical assistance as a President.

While shutting down church services, NY was allowing BLM protestors free reign. Would they get the same medical assistance as Cuomo or DeBlasio?

Trump continues to insult the intelligence of his base.
He has repeatedly been pushing for any and all treatments, including experimental ones such as this one, to be available to you and your doctor. He is not the one trying to stop doctors from trying to use whatever they can find in their arsenal. Instead the minute he talks about using some of experimental stuff everyone starts screaming about how he’s trying to practice voodoo medicine or rush treatments for political points. This, in particular, is a potential treatment he brought up before and the media reacted to it by ranting for hours about how irresponsible he was and how he keeps spreading misinformation.

Plus, do you not remember the Right to Try Act in 2018?

Just stop it. There are enough things you can legitimately blame Trump for that you do not need to make up extras.

What is the healthcare/insurance program for all full-time Federal employees? For members of Congress? For the Supreme Court? For Cabinet members?
