Those who thought the Corona virus was a hoax, or a conspiracy, or just a flue:
Does Trump’s testing positive for it and getting treated in the hospital make you feel you got duped?
Do you wish you had followed the safety guidelines instead of thinking of the mask as a freedom issue?
Do you feel Trump mislead you about the virus and he getting the kind of care you would not if you git sick?

Fabric masks are nothing more than a symbol of democrat compliance

Well that was a random non-associated thought.

Masks dont work. There is no research that shows they stop the spread of airborne diseases, that I am aware of. Its like wearing a rabbits foot. If they worked, patients in nursing homes wouldn't be getting Covid, but they are still getting it.

You are wrong!
If there is nothing better, fabric masks will work!
It depends only how many layers of fabric will be used.
Usually, 4 layers would be recommended from the cold war times.
Now, CDC is saying - 2 layers. OK. Better than nothing.

When WW2 started, US did not have well equipped army,
wooden planes and ships have been used. And, it worked for the beginning.

It was a same story with Covid!
No mask available? Did not need to hide the truth from people.
It would be better to say it as is and call for using fabric: 2-3-4 layers,
underwear, t-shirts, whatever,...
People would get it!

I wear a mask when in public (I'm 71 years ofage and have an irregular heart rhythm). But I doubt that masks make much of a difference for the young and health-conscious.

Not entirely, but pretty close to it. The American nation was founded by the rebels, misfits and outcasts from an over-structured and class-conscious Europe. A substantial component of the Democratic coalition ("nanny-staters", who probably envision positions of power, influence and privilege for themselves) would like to establish that poisonous culture here, and the forcing of masks on a sometimes-skeptical population is a test of this power-grab. The defection of much of blue-collar America to the Trump camp supports this point.

Then please explain why the hell does my Republican governor encourage people to wear masks?

Not my idea, but I agree with that: the president lost a moment to be a thru leader, hero and father of the nation ( what he had a great chance to be)
when he chose to ignore the problem instead of admitting it and deal with that properly.
