How does he use walking away from negotiations for re-election? He gets the blame for all the economic damage to working Americans between now and whenever. Another dumb move. The fact is that he can't get senate Republicans to sign off on anything of substance. It is not going to change if he wins. Same GOP senate until January. The only way it will change and bring relief for working people who are impacted by COVID (and the closures and job losses will get worse before they get better) is a Dem sweep.
Trump is not involved in negotiations.
Mnuchin is the point man.
Trump made it very clear he was In the “ get er dine” mode and substantially more supportive of more than the Senate majority was.
Unlike the past 2 Speakers of the House, Pelosi has done a better job of herding the cats. Seems to me one of the tactics she uses is packing bills with the wish list of representatives. She knows, the process will eliminate much of it.
It disgusts me to say that the last place I worked for did exactly that. Applied for the small business loan - then allowed the full time employees to work 3 days a week so they could claim unemployment for the other 2 and get the additional $600 weekly bonus.
I'm not sure they'll like the outcome when the dust settles.
Trump's narcissism and ego make it impossible for him to actually listen to those who can help him get successful messaging across.
The Republicans *should* win on stimulus round 2.
#1 - CARES isn't close to being spent.
#2 - continued additional unemployment benefits while not paying more to sit home
#3 - point out the TOTAL they've offered to the states
#4 - point out how the first $1,200 was used, and that it's hard/near-meaningless to stimulate a closed economy
Yop. Those getting $2,400 a month PLUS their regular unemployment I think it made them lazy and happy to see their bank account balance, as they made MORE than when they worked.
it took me 30 seconds to explain to my 15 yr old "I'll pay you $10 to mow the yard or $10 not to. Which do you choose?"
Thanks Nancy! Evil POS. All she cares about is HORRIBLY run demoncrat cities and states getting a bailout which AIN'T HAPPENING! I needed this money because my engine just blew in my vehicle so we are having to share 1 vehicle between 9 people and it ain't fun.
yup, can't have people making more money employed than unemployed. that removes all incentive to be productive.
How many made more by not working?
Does this include employees of companies who received full pay and benefits while not working because their employer received a PPP loan/ grant?
