Funny how some things about the virus were "established" very quickly.......

Like asymptomatic spread......which is turning out to be not nearly as common as they originally said, and was one of the biggest reasons used to justify the shutdowns and social distancing rules in the first place.

But the concept of herd immunity has to be studied for years.....

We could adopt a different model, but its not going to happen. We could have the federal government pay for universal sick leave, perhaps reimbursing at 80% of the amount of tax paid in the previous year; we could enact universal health care so folks are not slammed by medical bills, we could have the govt. pay for medical care so folks don't have to decide between rent, food and insurance. But we won't due to lack of leadership and creative thinking in this crisis.

Herd immunity is a myth without a vaccine. It doesn't work for smallpox, polio, measles, and on and on. These doctors are advocating nothing short of genocide for the poor and those others at risk.

So you want the whole world to live the rest of their lives like the boy in the bubble?

Over a virus with a less than 1% fatality rate?

Fauci and Birx are two people--and they 'shut the world down.' Biden said 'listen to the scientists' about a hundred times now, so I think we should listen to them.

They are advocating for a vaccine. The 'genocide' of the poor will come from the economic devastation of draconian lockdowns. The fragile economies of other countries are decimated, and the poor in our country aren't doing much better, especially the undocumented---once the darlings of the left, but now thrown under the lockdown bus. In the ensuing years, worldwide deaths from the economic devastation and shut downs will far exceed even the worst Covid deaths. This needs to be part of the discussion.

It seems to me, there are two issues.

Since a few people who get Covid will die from it, caution is still the best course of action. Even if these scientists are correct, nobody’s going to go catch the virus deliberately, in order to gain immunity.

Secondly, the percentage of those who die after contacting Covid is VERY low (less than 1%), except for those who are over 70 with underlying conditions. So, this tells me that most of us should be operating normally, while social distancing, wearing masks sometimes, and washing our hands a lot.

In my opinion, society can, and should, go back to normal. Smart people will observe sensible precautions, and natural selection will take care of the rest.

And if the doctor from Harvard is right about plummeting vaccination numbers for kids, we could see a resurgence of other diseases that are far more dangerous to kids than Covid. I tried to look that up, but couldn’t find it published anywhere.

Very interesting thing that has developed in our town this past week. Two kids have tested positive, and both of them are full-remote students, not in-school kids. Hmmmmm....

This is just my personal opinion, but I think many, many kids around the country have it or have had it, and we never knew because they rarely get seriously sick. Their symptoms could easily be mistaken for allergies or the common cold. We are having free rapid saliva tests in town today, and I’m dreading it because I think if people take their kids, we’re going to find more cases, and that will shut down the limited amount of school we have now, as well as shut down all sports. Then we’ll be right back to “lockdowns”, but there will be no discernible change in anyone’s overall health.

Herd immunity is the solution, and we as a society must sacrifice some lives to achieve it.

The job of the virus is to thin the herd, and humanity will be better off with fewer elderly and diseased who drain our resources.

If we can’t get natural immunity form getting infected then we won’t be able to get it from a vaccine either. What we are doing right now is a mass experiment and it may fail.
