The only problem with your hypothesis is the lipophilicity of fentanyl means it would have been absorbed into the central nervous system within a few minutes. The Police first made contact with Mr. Floyd at 8:09 p.m. and he remained conscious and talking until 8:25 pm. That is at minimum 16 minutes from the time Mr. Floyd could have consumed any illicit substance.
Fentanyl overdose is characterized by a rapid onset. When the route of drug use is intravenous, depending upon the amount of fentanyl being injected, the overdose victim can lose consciousness before they can even remove the needle. Regardless which route is used, toxicity occurs when the body reaches it threshold, that can vary between people depending on their tolerance to the substance from previous usage.
However, Mr. Floyd would not have lasted 16 minutes before losing consciousness. Of course there could be other reasons why he didn't exhibit any symptoms of fentanyl toxicity. But no sense in looking at the link if you are right, right?

Understand that “MOST” people on this forum are smart. The insults to our collective intelligence makes our cerebrum ache and amygdala rage. Though the rest of our brains are gleefully enjoying watching pigs play in slop.
(1) If doing what Chauvin did with the knee to that area so easily kills people, why did Democrats make that official policy for Minneapolis when suspects resist arrest?
(2) If Floyd couldn't breathe from the knee then why could he still talk fine and why did he complain six times about not being able to breathe BEFORE Chauvin ever touched him?
(3) Are you a typical Democrat-Science-Denier? Do you deny the science that a side effect of Fentanyl is that it makes it so it feels like you can't breathe?
(4) We know according to medical science that Floyd took a dose of Fentanyl that is considered fatal to most people. How do you know that he was such an addict of Fentanyl that it wouldn't kill him?
(5) Minnesota charged him with murder and with that it is REQUIRED to prove that Chauvin INTENDED to murder Floyd. Is it likely that Chauvin sought to kill Floyd knowing that there were half a dozen cameras on the event (each cop had a body camera) and that he twice tried to hurry medical attention?
Talk about “propaganda and lies”... this is all complete conjecture, and yet one so extremely invested in this surely won’t be able to consider any other factual observations.
That particular method of “restraint” while already handcuffed and in the prone position was not “taught”. There is nothing to support that Chauvin was trained to pin a suspect down by force of knee to the neck after they are handcuffed and in the prone position..
Keeping a suspect in the prone position, meaning lying face-down with his hands cuffed behind his back, for an extended period of time is dangerous position. It’s known to cause what's called positional asphyxia, by ITSELF.
Police are instructed to use ONLY the force necessary for someone to COMPLY and THEN take them into custody.
Floyd was already in handcuffs and already on the ground. Restraining him in this extra measure was total excessive force.
He would only have been declared dead of an overdose had he been found unconscious WITHOUT an officer holding him with a knee in the prone position not breathing. That is not what happened at all.
Of course he could still say: “I can’t breathe, you’re killing me” while he was still alive. Someone in that position can draw enough breath to gasp or speak in spurts, but they can't breathe fully, so they gradually lose oxygen and fall unconscious.
He was told the man had no pulse. One can hope it wasn’t his intent to kill by continuing on after that, but it sure as hell couldn’t have been his intent to resuscitate, and a guy who lost consciousness and then with no pulse, already handcuffed and face down... doesn’t need to be “restrained”.

With all that talk of intelligence, surely you can look up the definition of Murder.
At the very least, if a police officer (first responder) manages a potential opioid overdose by pinning the man's neck under his knee and ignoring the medical duress, the officer at best deserves some sort of negligence charge and more reasonably manslaughter. First responders should not have a right to ignore a medical emergency.
